Italiani alla conquista del mondo: sarebbe stato questo il titolo perfetto per questo articolo. Ogni giorno ci capita di sentire storie di giovani italiani che hanno trovato la loro 'strada' oltralpe o, addirittura, oltreoceano (ambo i lati)... nel mondo del teatro questo fenomeno si vede ad occhio nudo. Tanti sono i performer il cui nome svetta sulle locandine dei piu importanti spettacoli a livello internazionale: Gian Marco Schiaretti ed Emanuele Caserta nella produzione Stage Enterteinment di TARZAN attualmente in scena ad Amburgo, rispettivamente nei ruoli di Tarzan e Terk; Daniela Pobega, che da due anni a questa parte miete consensi nel ruolo di Nala nella produzione spagnola di THE LION KING; Angelo di Figlia che, prima in MAMMA MIA! e ora in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, sta conquistando il pubblico francese; Gabriella Zanchi che tra qualche giorno riprendera il ruolo di Madame de la Grande Bouche - da lei gia interpretato nella versione italiana del musical - nella suddetta produzione parigina di BEAUTY AND THE BEAST...
Ad ogni modo, quest'oggi i nostri riflettori sono puntati su un altro giovane performer italiano che - avendo terminato da qualche settimana il suo percorso di studi presso la prestigiosa AMDA di New York - comincia adesso la sua scalata verso la Great White Way. Sto parlando di Eugenio Contenti. Noto in terra nostrana per aver affiancato i piu grandi registi del settore (da Saverio Marconi a Federico Bellone, da Mauro Simone a Christian Ginepro, da Fabrizio Angelini a Claudio Insegno) e per aver calcato le scene in spettacoli come PINOCCHIO (sbarcato gia a New York nel 2010) e ALICE NEL PAESE DELLE MERAVIGLIE, Eugenio si e di recente esibilto al Cafe101 regalando un'esilarante esibizione del brano To Excess del duo Kooman&Dimond - contenuto nel loro ultimo album OUT OF OUR HEADS - di cui vi proponiamo il video.

Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced the roster for Lincoln Center's fourth multidisciplinary White Light Festival, October 24 through November 23, 2013. The Festival's focus is music's capacity to illuminate the many dimensions of our interior lives, with a particular emphasis this year on the power of the voice. Spanning numerous musical traditions, genres, and disciplines, the Festival will offer 23 performances, films, and events featuring seven premieres and debuts by artists and companies from more than a dozen countries, including France, India, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, the U.K., Mali, Estonia, Italy, Austria, Canada and the U.S. New to this edition of the Festival is White Light on Film, film screenings followed by discussions with their directors. Other Festival components include: a panel discussion focused on the subject of time, pre- and post-performance artist discussions, and the popular post-performance White Light Lounges.

Fort Worth Opera revealed today the names of the composers whose works have been selected for participation in the first season of the company's exciting, annual new works program, Frontiers, making its debut May 6 - 11, 2013. Antony Sher will lead the cast in Arthur Miller's Broken Glass, directed at the Tricycle Theatre by Iqbal Khan. Broken Glass, designed by Mike Britton with lighting by Matthew Eagland runs from 30 September - 27 November, with press night on 6 October 2010. Further casting will be announced shortly.
