Yale Repertory Theatre will present the world premiere of Good Faith: Four Chats about Race and the New Haven Fire Department by Karen Hartman, directed by Kenny Leon, February 1-23, 2019 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street). Opening Night is Thursday, February 7.

The Paris Combo Brings Their Jaunty Cosmopolitan Sound To The Harris Center

"A French quintet with a seemingly endless supply of catchy hooks and imaginative lyrics" (Variety), the Paris Combo has spent two decades traveling the globe, playing to enthusiastic audiences from Sydney to San Francisco and Berlin to Beijing. Theirs is a unique, cosmopolitan sound; a fun-loving mix of swinging gypsy jazz, cabaret, French pop, and Latino and Middle Eastern rhythms. Fronted by the charismatic vocals of Belle du Berry whose "onstage demeanor is so expressive that communication is never an issue… part gamine charm, part playful seduction, her delivery fuses theatrical instincts with jazz-inflected phrasing that accentuates the band's irresistible rhythmic and melodic hooks" (The Age, Melbourne 2017).

Co-curators: choreographer Stefanie Nelson of Stefanie Nelson Dancegroup and bestselling author David Shenk (The Forgetting) present the launch of a new festival devoted to memory and forgetting. The inaugural event will feature Stefanie Nelson's A, MY NAME IS…, a dance piece inspired by a family experience with dementia, using several short films from David Shenk's Living With Alzheimer's Film Project. It will take place on January 23, 2019, at Aaron Davis Hall at The City College of New York (129 Convent Avenue at West 135th Street), with performances at 11:00 am and 6:30 pm. Both shows will be followed by a discussion with invited panelists including Meredith Wong from CaringKind's Connect2Culture program, and a reception (evening show only). World Premiere of Dan Hoyle's BORDER PEOPLE Comes to The Marsh SF

The Marsh San Francisco presents the World Premiere of Border People, the newest solo show by award-winning actor and playwright Dan Hoyle, based on his conversations with immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and border crossers of all kinds. Hoyle began work on the show after the election of Trump in November 2016; as the American immigration debate has grown more heated, Hoyle has worked with increased urgency to complete the work and bring it to the stage. Border People, directed and co-developed by Charlie Varon, will be presented January 11 - February 23, 2019 (press opening: January 25) with performances at 8:00pm Thursdays, 8:00pm Fridays, and 5:00pm Saturdays at The Marsh San Francisco, 1062 Valencia St., San Francisco. The Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance, a program within the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts at Wayne State University, is thrilled to kick off our year-long 90 Years of Dance at Wayne celebration with the annual December Dance Concert, December 7 and 8 at Detroit's Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts.  This year's show promises diverse and moving works showcasing highlights of dance through the decades. Dance students have the pleasure of working with a variety of talented artists, including invited guests, esteemed faculty, and talented student choreographers.

Bucks County Playhouse Launches Play Discovery Reading Series

Audiences will have a chance to experience both lesser known classic plays and new works when Bucks County Playhouse launches its Play Discovery Series with a reading of 'The Outgoing Tide' by Philadelphia playwright Bruce Graham on November 14 at 7:30 p.m. Directed by four-time Oscar nominee, Marsha Mason, 'The Outgoing Tide' is the first of several plays that will be part of the series for which Mason also serves as curator.  Additional titles will be announced shortly.

Today, after an iconic 20+ years of music, Columbia Records Grammy-winning multi-platinum selling band Train officially releases their highly anticipated Greatest Hits album and simultaneously announces a legendary summer tour with co-headliners and Grammy-nominated rockers, the Goo Goo Dolls. The amphitheater tour will feature special guest Allen Stoneand hit over 39 stops across North America. The tour will stop at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts on Saturday, July 27th, located at the historic site of the 1969 Woodstock festival in Bethel, NY. Fans will have a chance to witness Train's extensive and critically-acclaimed catalog of hits over the last two decades.

Love Actually Live, a multimedia-concert celebration of the soundtrack to one of the most beloved holiday movies of all time from the team behind Los Angeles' award-winning For The Record series, is featured this holiday season at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts from Tuesday, December 4, through Monday, December 31, 2018. Co-Produced by the Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts, Shane Scheel and Siobhan O'Neill and inspired by the Universal Pictures/Working Title motion picture written by Richard Curtis, this world-premiere production, presented by special arrangement with Universal Theatrical Group, transforms The Wallis' Bram Goldsmith Theater into a giant, immersive, cinema for the modern day. WAM Theatre Makes Record Donation To Two Non-Profit Beneficiaries

Every year, WAM Theatre donates a portion of the box office proceeds from their fall Main Stage production to agencies that benefit women and girls locally, nationally, or internationally. The success of ANN enabled the company to present their largest donation ever - $15,000 split evenly between its 14th and 15th beneficiaries, The Denise Kaley Fund and the Women's Fund of Western Massachusetts' 2018 Leadership Institute for Political and Public Impact (LIPPI). Each organization will receive $7,500.

Pulitzer Prize Finalist Dael Orlandersmith highlights the universal languages of love and music in Lady in Denmark, kicks off the 2018/2019 season in the 350-seat flexible Owen Theatre. Chay Yew, who also helmed the play's 2016 New Stages Festival staged reading, directs Linda Gehringer as Helene-a Danish American woman coping with the death of her husband who finds solace in the hauntingly beautiful music of their favorite singer, Billie Holiday. Orlandersmith's newest play is Helene's journey through the couple's time together-from the smoky jazz clubs of post-war Copenhagen to the home they shared in present-day Andersonville, Chicago. The creative team includes Andrew Boyce (set), Christine Pascual (costumes), Lee Fiskness (lighting) and Mikhail Fiksel (original music and sound). Donald E. Claxon is the production stage manager.
