From the dictator in his palace to the lone wolf shooter, distorted thinking has become a constant thread running through our news. Sometimes we can better confront dark realities through art. In April of 2012, Ilia Volok debuted his one-man show, DIARY OF A MADMAN in Los Angeles. The production received both public popularity and critical acclaim. He has since brought it back several times in the L.A. area. This month, the production will open at the American Theatre of Actors Beckmann Theatre in New York.

Like many from my generation, our love of screen icon Marilyn Monroe made her a star and continues to keep the flame of her incredibly hot sexual appeal alive. And while I have seen several performers take on the role. The amazing Sunny Thompson fully embodies the heart and soul, not just the heat and breathy voice we associate with the woman who encapsulated what a woman was supposed to look like long before the Kardasians were even born. Sunny Thompson truly embodies her look and voice, and seemingly channels the tortured, playful soul of Hollywood's greatest star.

It's really interesting to me in any kind of Shakespeare how people speak in definites, when there's no way to know them. This one seems to be one that actors hold very near and dear to their hearts. Some people are into the superstition and it's bad luck to say the title, but to me, it's just a frickin' word. It's funny to me.
