Coming of Age is a relative thing; everyone does it and The Round Barn Theatre at Amish Acres has chosen 21 as the symbol of this signal of life's journey. It will be the 21st year of repertory theatre (more than one show a day on the same stage with the same actors) so the theatre has chosen to design the season around musicals and shows that are "Coming of Age" stories of love and discovery.

The Sunshine Boys tells the story of Al Lewis and Willie Clark, two faded stars of the Vaudeville circuit, once beloved and now mostly forgotten. At their height, Lewis and Clark made multiple appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show and headlined all the major performance venues.

The Round Barn Theatre first produced "Annie" in 1996, its first year of repertory theatre. Nine year old Sarajane Morse Mullins captured the hearts of that first year's audience as the world's most famous redhead. Now twenty-two years later, Sarajane returns as Miss Hannigan on the same stage she began her professional career. Annie's red dress has been passed to Maddi Reese Ames, the next generation of budding starlets. It promises to be a special homecoming and debut for the two actresses and audiences.

Lynn University and Jan McArt, producer and director of theatre arts program development, today announced that glamorous Palm Beach philanthropist Lois Pope, who was a singer-actress earlier in her career, is returning to the stage as one of the headliners in the upcoming production of the classic Broadway hit musical Gigi by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe. Pope will appear as a?oeAunt Aliciaa?? in the delightful, tune-filled show that will have three performances, March 14-15, at the beautiful Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center, which is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this season.

A tale as old as time in this Disney classic that tells the tale of an enchanted prince in the shape of a hideous beast and the intelligent woman who enters his life and must learn to love him if the curse is ever to be broken. Join the Beast, Belle, Gaston, Lefou, Lumiere, and friends as they embark on a grand journey filled with adventure, cheer, and learning to love. Amish Acres will close after the fireworks finale of the New Year's Eve Celebration and Cabaret which concludes its 50th anniversary year. The founding Pletcher is retiring. The historic farm and heritage resort includes a 400-seat restaurant, 400-seat performing arts theatre, and numerous shops. They are all created from authentic structures moved to the site that include pre-Civil War log buildings and hand-hewn barns. The farm's land and buildings will be sold at auction by Schrader Auction Co. from Columbia City, Indiana. A January date will be announced soon.

Legally Blonde, The Musical takes you from the sorority houses of UCLA to the halls of justice via Harvard with one of Broadway's brightest heroines and her Chihuahua sidekick, Bruiser, played by Oscar Burgess. Amanda Brown's novel by the same name was adapted in 2001 for the film starring award winning actress, Reese Witherspoon. Soon after Heather Bach created the Broadway version with songs composed by Lawrence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin. The plot follows the story of the popular and beautiful sorority girl Elle Woods who is determined to win back her ex-boyfriend, Warner by enrolling into Harvard University. With a chip on her shoulder and the support of some new friends, Elle is determined to show Harvard that she's a blonde with smarts, wit, and plenty of fashion sense.

Jerry O'Boyle, returning Artistic Director, will open the 32nd annual production of "Plain and Fancy" at The Round Barn Theatre at Amish Acres reprising his role playing the part of Jacob Yoder for the first 3 weeks of the May 23rd through October 13th run. O'Boyle has played the family's patriarch and pivotal character over 800 times in the Locke Township Meeting House and on the Joseph Stein Stage. He has been associated with the flagship production for the last three decades. After seven years as Artistic Director, he spent four years on the international tour of the Broadway hit "Hairspray" playing Edna Turnblad the frazzled mother of her full of life daughter Tracy. During the four year stint, he once again played the musical's pivotal character over 800 times-200 performances per year.

Music Theater Works (formerly Light Opera Works) presents the Leonard Bernstein classic, CANDIDE, based on Voltaire's satire on the follies of the human race, at Cahn Auditorium in Evanston, June 3 through 11. A 24-piece orchestra accompanies the well-known songs "Glitter and Be Gay," "The Best of All Possible Worlds" and "Make Our Garden Grow."

As unlikely as it might seem, it is possible that despite the fact that "Plain and Fancy" has been performed over three thousand times during the past thirty years with an attendance of over three hundred thousand patrons there might still be some folks who haven't seen "Plain and Fancy" at the Round Barn Theatre in Nappanee.

Some shows the more you see them, the more you love them. Like "A Christmas Story, "Ground Hog's Day," or even "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."

Visitors relax under the shade of tents while musicians, dancers, marionettes, and magicians entertain on three stages and in the Entertainment Tent during the nationally acclaimed event.

Due to demand, The New Group has announced a three-week extension for Jerry Springer - The Opera, with Matt McGrath appearing as Jerry Springer beginning March 13.  Terrence Mann, currently appearing in the role of Jerry Springer, plays his final performance March 11 due to an existing commitment beyond that date.

The season's theme is a?oeAll Music, All the Time.a?? For the first time in its 27 years of repertory theatre, The Round Barn will produce SEVEN, THAT'S RIGHT 7,  musicals for its 2020 season, all designed to Tug on the Heart Strings.

Audiences of all ages will fall in love with Anne in this refreshing, contemporary telling of the classic story. Stern Marilla and her warm-hearted brother Matthew hoped to adopt a boy to work on their farm.
