Coming of Age is a relative thing; everyone does it and The Round Barn Theatre at Amish Acres has chosen 21 as the symbol of this signal of life's journey. Nine year old Sarajane Morse Mullins captured the hearts of that first year's audience as the world's most famous redhead. Now twenty-two years later, Sarajane returns as Miss Hannigan on the same stage she began her professional career. Annie's red dress has been passed to Maddi Reese Ames, the next generation of budding starlets. It promises to be a special homecoming and debut for the two actresses and audiences.

Lynn University and Jan McArt, producer and director of theatre arts program development, today announced that glamorous Palm Beach philanthropist Lois Pope, who was a singer-actress earlier in her career, is returning to the stage as one of the headliners in the upcoming production of the classic Broadway hit musical Gigi by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe. Amish Acres will close after the fireworks finale of the New Year's Eve Celebration and Cabaret which concludes its 50th anniversary year. The founding Pletcher is retiring. The historic farm and heritage resort includes a 400-seat restaurant, 400-seat performing arts theatre, and numerous shops. They are all created from authentic structures moved to the site that include pre-Civil War log buildings and hand-hewn barns. The farm's land and buildings will be sold at auction by Schrader Auction Co. from Columbia City, Indiana. A January date will be announced soon.

Legally Blonde, The Musical takes you from the sorority houses of UCLA to the halls of justice via Harvard with one of Broadway's brightest heroines and her Chihuahua sidekick, Bruiser, played by Oscar Burgess. Amanda Brown's novel by the same name was adapted in 2001 for the film starring award winning actress, Reese Witherspoon. Soon after Heather Bach created the Broadway version with songs composed by Lawrence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin. The plot follows the story of the popular and beautiful sorority girl Elle Woods who is determined to win back her ex-boyfriend, Warner by enrolling into Harvard University. With a chip on her shoulder and the support of some new friends, Elle is determined to show Harvard that she's a blonde with smarts, wit, and plenty of fashion sense.

Jerry O'Boyle, returning Artistic Director, will open the 32nd annual production of "Plain and Fancy" at The Round Barn Theatre at Amish Acres reprising his role playing the part of Jacob Yoder for the first 3 weeks of the May 23rd through October 13th run. O'Boyle has played the family's patriarch and pivotal character over 800 times in the Locke Township Meeting House and on the Joseph Stein Stage. He has been associated with the flagship production for the last three decades. After seven years as Artistic Director, he spent four years on the international tour of the Broadway hit "Hairspray" playing Edna Turnblad the frazzled mother of her full of life daughter Tracy. During the four year stint, he once again played the musical's pivotal character over 800 times-200 performances per year.

More than one hundred entertainers and performers have been assembled from near and far to fill four full days of free scheduled music and dance sets during the Amish Acres 55th Annual Arts & Crafts Festival Thursday, August 3 through Sunday, August 6. Barbershop quartets, jugglers, and clowns will be strolling the grounds, along with Liza and Mark Woolever, playing folk songs and bluegrass breakdowns, to delight children and adults alike as they shop nearly 300 unique artists and crafters from every corner of the country. Visitors relax under the shade of tents while musicians, dancers, marionettes, and magicians entertain on three stages and in the Entertainment Tent during the nationally acclaimed event.
