A holiday tradition returns to the McCallum as Dave Koz and Friends Christmas Tour 2018 brings together a magical combination of musicians to celebrate this special season. Ukulele superstar Jake Shimabukuro, one of the most exceptional and innovative ukulele players in the history of the instrument, brings his virtuosic playing to Pepperdine University's Smothers Theatre in Malibu today, December 1 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, December 2 at 2 p.m.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast and creative team for Paradise Square: An American Musical. The world premiere is helmed by acclaimed director Moises Kaufman, with choreography by the legendary Bill T. Jones and a book by Marcus Gardley, Craig Lucas, and Larry Kirwan. Music by Jason Howland and Larry Kirwan, with lyrics by Nathan Tysen, and based on the songs of Stephen Foster. Paradise Square is produced by special arrangement with Garth H. Drabinsky in association with Peter LeDonne and Teatro Proscenium Limited Partnership.

New York Stage and Film is thrilled to announce that its annual Winter Gala will honor playwright and Emmy award-winning actress Patricia Wettig (F2M, 'Brothers and Sisters,' 'thirtysomething') and Executive Producer/director/actor Ken Olin ('This Is Us,' 'Alias,' 'Brothers & Sisters,' 'thirtysomething'), and, in recognition for her years of dedication to New York Stage and Film, Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer, who is stepping down from her post at the end of the 2019 Powerhouse Summer Season.

Kyo-Shin-An Arts continues its 10th anniversary season with a concert titled Crimson Leaves on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 4pm at Tenri Cultural Institute (43A West 13th Street, NYC), which features the Boston-based, inspiring young piano trio Neave Piano Trio and KSA Artistic Director,Shakuhachi Grand Master James Nyoraku Schlefer in music for piano trio and shakuhachi. This intimate performance of chamber music blurs the lines of world culture, encompassing fiery rhythms of Iran, the sensuous passion of Argentina, the sudden drama of Hong Kong, and the austere calm of Japan. Violin, cello, piano and shakuhachi come together in music by Amir Eslami (Seasons for shakuhachi and piano trio), Astor Piazzolla (The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires for piano trio), Adrian Hon Chung Lam (Separated... at the Human Labyrinth of Asakusa Temple for shakuhachi and piano trio) and the famous traditional Shika no Tone (Cry of the Distant Deer) for two shakuhachi, with special guest Brian Tairaku Ritchi (bassist in The Violent Femmes).

It is with a mix of both excitement and sadness that Nightwood Theatre's Board of Directors announces the departure of Artistic Director Kelly Thornton. Kelly will be stepping down from her position in order to take on the role of Artistic Director of Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre in Winnipeg. Royal MTC is Canada's oldest regional theatre, and produces 10 plays on two stages, a regional tour of Manitoba and Northwest Ontario, a wide range of youth programming and two annual festivals: the Master Playwright Festival, and North America's second-largest Fringe, the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival.

This Fall Live @ Benaroya Hall demonstrates its commitment to supporting emerging artists with a series of four artists on the rise: Royal, Springs, Beving and Micarelli. The Live @ Benaroya Hall season continues through December and into 2019 with four added concerts: Brickman, The Tenors, The English Beat and Bowie. Tickets to those shows recently went on sale and good seats are available for all concerts in the lineup. More shows for the Spring of 2019 will be announced in late January. Tickets for the concerts listed above are on sale now, prices vary.

This October, 1,000 singers from across New York City's five boroughs will come together on the High Line for the premiere performances of The Mile-Long Opera: a biography of 7 o'clock. Due to overwhelming demand for tickets to the previously announced performances (October 3-7), an encore performance will be added on October 8.Tickets for this additional night will be made available first to members of the public currently on the waitlist, on a first come, first served basis, beginning Thursday, September 27, at noon. Those interested in accessing these tickets may join the waitlist at milelongopera.com. Tickets for The Mile-Long Opera are free, but advance registration is required. A standby line will open 30 minutes prior to the 7:00pm time slot on all performance dates.

Art House Productions announces its full schedule of arts programming from September 2018 until June 2019.  Beginning in September, Art House presents its first Artist-in-Residence: Raven Taisce White. Raven is a trans woman from South Carolina and her company, BIRDHOUSE perform a reimagining of their piece Hot Winter. Hot Winter follows five humans as they struggle to understand one another, unifying in difference and falling apart in sameness and is a surrealistic look at the performers' collective universe.

English Touring Theatre today announces full tour dates for Ned Bennett's bold new production of Peter Shaffer's critically-acclaimed classic, psychological thriller Equus in a co-production with Theatre Royal Stratford East. The production opens at Theatre Royal Stratford East on 21 February, with previews from 15 February and runs until 23 March. Following this it tours to Cambridge Arts Theatre, Theatre Royal Bath, Bristol Old Vic, The Lowry, Northern Stage and Yvonne Arnaud Theatre.

The Stage kicks off Season 36 with the Obie-winning play 'The Lieutenant of Inishmore' by acclaimed playwright Martin McDonagh; screenwriter, director, and producer of this year's Golden Globe winner for Best Motion Picture - 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri'.  McDonagh's work is built into the fabric of San Jose Stage Company's mission to illuminate the human condition. Ted Sperling, Artistic Director of MasterVoices, announced details of the acclaimed ensemble's 77th season, celebrating the power of the human voice to unite, inspire and connect since 1941. The upcoming season will be framed by two major musical events, the New York premiere of a multi-media version of Handel's oratorioIsrael in Egypt performed at Carnegie Hall, and a new adaptation of the Kurt Weill-Ira Gershwin-Moss Hart avant-garde musical, Lady in the Dark, starring Victoria Clark at New York City Center. Lady in the Dark has not been seen in New York since it was presented at New York City Center in 1994 as part of the inaugural Encores! season.
