Schimmel Center at Pace University continues its 2018-19 series of World Music and Dance with Ireland and America, a musical retrospective of Irish American history performed by Larry Kirwan, co-founder and frontman of the New York City-based Celtic rock band Black 47, on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 7:30pm. Two alumnae of the Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) are working together once again in New York City on the world premiere of LubDub Theatre Company's A Play for the Living in a Time of Extinction. The new play by Miranda Rose Hall (currently in-development) is a new solo theatre and music performance starring Malouf that grapples with being a human in a time of mass extinction. This project is being developed through an ongoing two-year residency with the Orchard Project's NYC Greenhouse. Both Malouf and Cassidy trained at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts in acting, singing, and dancing, toured with Electric Youth, and performed with the Franklin Performing Arts Company.

Axis Company today announces its 20th Anniversary Season, which kicks off a bold new work: the world premiere of Strangers in the World, written and directed by Axis Artistic Director Randy Sharp (March 13-April 6). Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the full company for Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and author Ayad Akhtar's (Arena's Disgraced) timely tale Junk. Inspired by the real junk bond giants of the 1980s, Akhtar explores how the riveting, hostile takeover of a family-owned manufacturing company paved the way to expose the rise of greed, power, race and wealth that led to reshaping the rules of Wall Street and the world. Directed by Jackie Maxwell, Junk runs April 5 - May 5, 2019 in the Fichandler Stage.
