Teri Schwartz, dean of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, announced today that two-time Golden Globe-nominated actor Pierce Brosnan has been named the 2019 commencement keynote speaker. Filmmaker Julie Dash (Daughters of the Dust) will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award in Film/Television/Digital Media and actor-activist George Takei (Allegiance) will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award in Theater. Dean Schwartz will preside over the event to be held on Friday, June 14 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at UCLA's Royce Hall.

The much anticipated album comes following a career that's spanned over 50 years and literally hundreds of historical collaborations. Sweet Release also serves as Joe Bonamassa's inaugural credit as a producer. Bonamassa has long been a fan of Wynans' work, urging him to create a solo album and championing the project as producer. Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the full company for Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and author Ayad Akhtar's (Arena's Disgraced) timely tale Junk. Inspired by the real junk bond giants of the 1980s, Akhtar explores how the riveting, hostile takeover of a family-owned manufacturing company paved the way to expose the rise of greed, power, race and wealth that led to reshaping the rules of Wall Street and the world. Directed by Jackie Maxwell, Junk runs April 5 - May 5, 2019 in the Fichandler Stage.

Full casting has been announced for the first major revival of Nigel Williams' My Brother's Keeper?, which opens at London's Playground Theatre at the end of February. Joining actor and former stand-up comedian Andy de la Tour as ailing patriarch Mr Stone, will be Katherine Pogson (Vera ITV, Brazil Terry Gilliam, Aunt Dan & Lemon New York Theatre Drama Desk nomination) as Mrs Stone, David Partridge (The Secret Theatre - Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, Shakespeare's Globe, All My Sons - Rose Theatre, Kingston, Travels With My Aunt - Cc Theatre, UK tour) and Josh Taylor (Poldark - BBC, The Crown - Netflix, Each His Own Wilderness -Orange Tree Theatre) as their warring sons Sam and Tony.

The Legendary Soul Man Sam Moore was announced as a guest collaborator on Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member, and world-renowned Nashville-based keyboardist, Reese Wynans first-ever solo album, Sweet Release. Moore makes his guest appearance on the album's first single, 'Crossfire,' providing his signature vocals on the classic song, once sung by Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Love's soft will be the second installation in their NYC Reading Series at Barnard College, held on Monday, October 29th at 7:00pm at the Glicker-Milstein Theater at The Diana Center. Directed by Awoye Timpo, the cast of soft features Gabriel Diego Hernandez, Galen Ryan Kane, Obie and AUDELCO Award winner Russell G. Jones, Andy Lucien, Joshua E.
