This summer, celebrate your love of classic film as the 12th annual Cinema at the Square series returns to PlayhouseSquare August 6-23, 2009. This years series showcases fifteen classic films from the Golden Age of Hollywood to the special-effects laced blockbusters of the 1980's; all for a very 'retro' price of just $5 per film.

Two classic American plays by iconic, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwrights, two audacious plays by contemporary mavericks, a world premiere musical by one of America's greatest living singer/songwriters and the bonus option of a delicious spoof of a 1935 movie are set for Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum's 2010 season at the Los Angeles Music Center, it was announced today by Michael Ritchie, CTG's Artistic Director.

Three studio titles will change and one production will move to the Main Stage in a major revision of the Portland Center Stage 2009/2010 season. Early strong seller The Chosen will move to the Main Stage, replacing Joe Turner's Come and Gone (which will be deferred to future season). In the studio, a possible Broadway tour causes our production of Thurgood Marshall to be postponed, and The Best So Far will be put on hold to give it a bit more gestation (and New York fundraising) time.

For the fourth consecutive year, The Cleveland Play House presents FusionFest, the only multidisciplinary performing arts festival at a regional theatre in the country, from April 29-May 10, 2009. The festival will offer a sampling of international and 'other-worldly' works, including an ancient Japanese art form, Dogugaeshi, by master puppeteer Basil Twist, performances by Charles Ross of his One-Man Star Wars Trilogy, and a world-premiere adaptation of Thorton Wilder's comic novel Heaven's My Destination, by Tony-award nominee Lee Blessing and commissioned by The Play House expressly for FusionFest with support from The Roe Green Foundation.
