DTC Announces 2018-2019 Season

2017 Regional Theatre Tony Award recipient Dallas Theater Center (DTC) announces titles for the 2018-2019 season, including the heartwarming, southern comedy Steel Magnolias; the critically-acclaimed Broadway play and winner of the 2017 Pulitzer Prize, Sweat; William Shakespeare's delightful comedy, Twelfth Night; the acclaimed comedy, then film, Real Women Have Curves; a world premiere play set in Dallas, Penny Candy; a new play fresh off the New York theater season, The Wolves, and a fascinating play about the relationship between Muhammad Ali and Stepin Fetchit, Fetch Clay, Make Man. Productions will take place at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre at the AT&T Performing Arts Center and at the Kalita Humphreys Theater. The Second City proudly celebrates Black History Month with a special engagement of The Second City's Black History Month Show, featuring iconic scenes written and created by the theater's lauded African American alumni, which include Keegan-Michael Key, Sam Richardson, Amber Ruffin and more. The show is directed by Second City alum, Resident Director, and Associate Artistic Director of the Training Center, Anthony LeBlanc.

Sundance Now Announces 2018 Programming Slate Highlights

Sundance Now, AMC Networks' premium streaming service, announced from the Television Critics Association (TCA) Press Tour highlights from its 2018 programming slate. Cuban-born artist Mar a Magdalena Campos-Pons addresses the unique and resilient nature of the Afro Cuban diaspora through photography, sculpture, performances, and video installations. Her West Coast debut and first exhibition with Gallery Wendi Norris, presents works ranging from 1990 to 2017, including three major installations, rare large-format Polaroid photographs, and a performance work.

The Second City announces complete casting for the return of The Second City's She the People: Girlfriends' Guide to Sisters Doing It for Themselves, a sketch show created, designed and performed entirely by the women of Second City. Back by popular demand, She the People features Carisa Barreca, Alex Bellisle, Katie Caussin, Maria Randazzo, Alexis J Roston and Kimberly Michelle Vaughn. Under the direction of Carly Heffernan with musical direction by Mary Mahoney, She the People runs January 11 April 1, 2018, in The Second City's UP Comedy Club, with the press opening on Thursday, January 18th at 8pm. Motown the Musical audiences and Motown music fans are invited to enjoy The Sound of Motown free pre-performance events on the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza. These 45-minute programs will tell the Motown story with insider tales and historic videos of Motown's early publicist Al Abrams from a 2010 lecture at the University of Michigan.
