Interrobang Theatre Project is pleased to announce its ninth season, featuring three knockout dramas presented at its new resident home, Rivendell Theatre, 5779 N. The classic Musical 'Mame' opened the 2018 season last night at NSMT. The Musical by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, with Lyrics by Jerry Herman, and based on the book by Patrick Dennis, is a 1966 Musical Theatre warhorse that has starred such luminaries as, Rosalind Russell, Angela Landsbury, and even Lucille Ball, in the ill-fated 1970's movie.

New subscriptions to the 2018-2019 Children's Theatre of Cincinnati MainStage season at the Taft Theatre will be available starting today, Monday, June 4, 2018.  Subscriptions range from $43 to $103 for all four productions.  Single tickets go on sale August 31.

The Education and Community Engagement department of Society for the Performing Arts presents the 2018 Ballet Hispanico Summer Intensive from June 4 - 15 at Episcopal High School. The deadline for registration is May 25. The two-week residency is designed to serve the needs of emerging dancers in the Houston community and supports a 360-degree approach to the development of the dancers.

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will pay homage to the glittering world of Hollywood musicals with Mad About Musicals!, a special month of programming celebrating timeless movie musicals such as The Wizard of Oz, Singin' in the Rain and Cabaret. TCM is once again partnering with Ball State University and Canvas to offer a free online multimedia course tied to this programming special about the history of the musical genre and its evolution with cultural and technological shifts. LA's own Impro Theatre concludes their yearlong residency at The Edye at The Broad Stage, presenting a different style of their signature improvisation for one weekend, each month.  For the final show in their residency, Impro Theatre will pay homage to one of America's most prolific playwrights Tennessee Williams UnScripted (June 15 - 17). Starting with audience suggestions, Impro Theatre captures Williams' masterful storytelling and delicious language as it creates full-length plays that are hilarious, yet as tragic as a Southern belle's broken heart.

Creator, producer and host of This American Life, the iconic weekly public radio program, Ira Glass, brings an all-new lecture entitled Seven Things I've Learned: An Evening with Ira Glass to Houston. Using audio clips, music, and video, Ira Glass will share lessons from his life and career in storytelling today, May 12 in Jones Hall for the Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m.

LA's own Impro Theatre continues their residency at The Edye at The Broad Stage, presenting a different style of their signature improvisation for one weekend, each month. For the penultimate show in their residency, Impro Theatre will pay homage to the genius of the American satirist Dorothy Parker with Dorothy Parker UnScripted (May 18 - 20). Starting with audience suggestions, Impro Theatre picks up Dorothy's comedic scalpel and recreates an impressionistic night of Dorothy-style scenes and observation, reminiscent of the Roaring 20's.

On the first anniversary of Jack Bruce's passing, a star-studded line up of world class musicians performed a moving musical tribute to the Scottish legend at The Roundhouse in London.

Boston University Tanglewood Institute (BUTI)-one of North America's premiere summer training programs for young musicians-announces its 2018 programs and events today. The 2018 BUTI summer season, which will take place at Tanglewood and on the BUTI campus in Lenox, MA, June 17-August 11, features concert and recital programming throughout the Berkshires; workshops led by distinguished performers and teachers from Boston University College of Fine Arts and the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO); Visiting Artists conductor Teddy Abrams (BUTI '03) and bassist Joseph Conyers (BUTI '98); Artist-in-Residence Nico Muhly (BUTI '96, '97); and rich programs of learning and performance for students ages 10-20. Led by Executive Director Hilary Field Respass, BUTI is the only program of its kind associated with one of the world's great symphony orchestras, the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
