Morris Park Players Community Theatre proudly opens its 10-11 season with the Broadway musical monster-hit Annie, November 5, 6, 12, 19, 20 at 7:30 pm and November 13 and 14 at 2:00 pm at their new home of Thomas Edison High School Auditorium.

Since the 1983 film debut, Jean Shepherd's holiday classic A Christmas Story has warmed hearts nationwide with visions of leg lamps and Midwestern children dressed in their overstuffed winter parkas, longing for the infamous Red Rider BB gun-much to their parents' consternation.

There aren't many bass/piano duos more musically familiar with one another than Charlie Haden and Paul Bley. The two legends have been playing together off and on since the late 1950s. Charlie Haden's career as a sideman (Ornette Coleman, Keith Jarrett, Charles Lloyd) and as a leader (Liberation Music Orchestra, Quartet West) have made him one of the most respected jazz musicians of our time. Some of Haden's most beautiful and introspective music has appeared in his duo work (the most recent of which can be heard on Jasmine, recorded with celebrated pianist Keith Jarrett on ECM). Paul Bley, an equally innovative pianist whose recording credits range from Lester Young and Charlie Parker to John Scofield and Bill Frisell, will share the stage with Haden from Nov. 18 - 21.

The nominees for the PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 were announced this morning by Malin Akerman ('27 Dresses,' 'Watchmen'), Michael Chiklis, ('No Ordinary Family'), Zachary Levi ('Chuck'), AnnaLynne McCord ('90210'), Jeff Probst ('Survivor') and Audrina Patridge ('The Hills'), along with host Queen Latifah and Executive Producer Mark Burnett at The London West Hollywood Hotel. Prior to the announcement, over 35 million votes were cast by fans across the country. Fans were invited to pick new categories and determine the nominees for the annual awards show that celebrates fan favorites in movies, music and television.
