Boston Ballet Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen announces the programming for the 2016-2017 season at the Boston Opera House, to begin in October. The 53rd season will launch with Le Corsaire, a historically significant work in the world of ballet that originally premiered in Paris in 1856, followed by Mikko Nissinen's "dazzling, dreamy" The Nutcracker (Karen Campbell, The Boston Globe). The season continues with the North American Company premiere of William Forsythe's ARTIFACT, "a work that definitely shows this choreographer as the most influential practitioner of the art form since Balanchine" (Roslyn Sulcas, The New York Times). In April 2017, Marius Petipa's quintessential The Sleeping Beauty will return with soaring music by Tchaikovsky. The season will also include two mixed repertory programs with works by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Ji?i Kylian, and Alexander Ekman, as well as a world premiere by Resident Choreographer Jorma Elo. Additionally, Le Corsaire, The Nutcracker, and The Sleeping Beauty will offer Boston Ballet School students the unique opportunity to appear in Company productions.

This year's eight-day celebration entitled: World Stamp Show-NY 2016 is scheduled from May 28th to June 4th, 2016, at the Javits Center located at 655 West 34th Street in New York City. In addition to hundreds of thousands stamps from around the world, this year's exhibition will include the world's most valuable postage stamp, John Lennon's childhood stamp album, vintage postal vehicles, and much more.

LOVE STORIES performs in the Broadway Theatre Center's Studio Theatre in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward.

However, to Veta and Myrtle Mae's great dismay, uncle Elwood insists on involving his best friend Harvey in all their social affairs. Harvey is a precocious, humorous, and mischievous character who just so happens to be an imaginary, six-foot-one-and-a-half-foot tall rabbit. When Veta and Myrtle Mae decide to seek respite from Elwood and his pooka, a case of mistaken identity leads the town on a journey to discover the true 'lunacy' at play. This delightful, timeless classic challenges us to embrace our imaginations and to resist, at all costs, 'being perfectly normal human beings.'

1st Stage, Tysons Corner's award-winning professional theater, announces the extension of the world premiere Now Comes the Night by playwright E.M. Lewis.  Artistic Director, Alex Levy directed the production at 1st Stage.

Visitors to the 52nd annual Marshall Historic Home Tour Sept. 12-13 can view the Whelan's latest challenge, Marshall's octagon house originally built 1856, which is being presented on the home tour as under restoration. Octagon houses were a mid-1800s housing fad and were promoted as providing a healthier and more efficient lifestyle. Only about 500 survive nationally.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will present George Bernard Shaw's comedy Misalliance, directed by Artistic Associate/Casting Director Stephen Brown-Fried. Performances begin Wednesday, August 5th and continue through Sunday, August 30th at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, 36 Madison Avenue (at Lancaster Road) in Madison.
