Producer Bo Corre, translator Marita Lindholm Gochman and Scandinavian American Theater Company, are presenting LARS NOREN TODAY: HIS WORK AND HIS WORLD on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 7pm at the Lynn Redgrave Theater in New York City. There will be a reading of selected scenes from his latest play 3.31.93. The version is being directed by Sofia Jupither who directed the world premiere at the City Theater, Stockholm in 2013. The story is about a prince and princess from two different kingdoms who were wed at infancy. While the prince anxiously anticipates meeting his now 21 year old bride, she has started a women's university, preaching the virtues of woman over man, and that 'man is nature's sole mistake'. When Princess Ida does not show up as agreed upon, Prince Hilarion and a couple of friends infiltrate the university as new students, and hilarity ensues. The two kings threaten war to solve the problem, the prince offers love. Ida must decide whether she can continue her noble experiment.

The full lineup has been announced for the 2014 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, New York's premiere eco-friendly/socially-conscious theatre festival running from May 12-June 8 at the Paradise Factory (64 East 4th Street) upstairs & downstairs theaters. With 40 full productions, over 10 free staged readings, music & film festivals and more, one thing that makes Planet Connections unique is that each show partners with a charity and some of the ways they offer support are soliciting donations at shows, holding special benefit performances, fundraisers and/or talkbacks after performances with charity representatives. The music festival will take place at 8pm on May 21, 22 & June 5 at R Bar (218 Bowery).

Lost Horse Press Announces Dorianne Laux as Final Judge for the Idaho Prize for Poetry 2014 Competition

Lost Horse Press is now accepting submissions for the Idaho Prize for Poetry 2014. The Idaho Prize is an annual, national competition offering $1,000 plus publication by Lost Horse Press for a book-length poetry manuscript. Manuscripts are accepted for review before May 15 of each year, and on 15 August, a winner and finalists are announced. In addition to announcements in national publications, the winning book and author will be featured on the Lost Horse Press website, along with a list of the finalists, as well as in the catalog of our distributor, the University of Washington Press.

Writer-producer Jeffrey Pollack was found dead on the greenbelt in Hermosa Beach early Monday, December 23 while out for a jog. The 54-year-old was best known as the writer-producer of the TV series The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air.
