THE BELLE OF AMHERST takes place through the current and past experiences of EMILY DICKINSON'S life from 1830-1886 and is set in her home in Amherst Massachusetts. The reclusive nineteenth-century poet EMILY DICKINSON recollects her past through her work, her diaries and letters, and a few encounters with significant people in her life. WILLIAM LUCE'S classic play shows both the pain and joy of Dickinson's secluded life.

Composer Sebastian Currier's Ghost Trio, written for violinist and longtime champion of his music Anne-Sophie Mutter, receives its world premiere at Carnegie Hall on Tuesday, March 12 at 8:00 p.m. Performed by Ms. Mutter with cellist Daniel Muller-Schott and pianist Lambert Orkis, the work is a piano trio that explores the history and legacy of the genre through allusions to classic works. Ms. Mutter, Mr. Muller-Schott, and Mr. Orkis reprise the work at Chicago's Symphony Center on Sunday, March 17 at 3:00 p.m.

San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP) has announced the return of San Diego's beloved artist, Hershey Felder with his latest smash hit celebrating the world's greatest composer, Beethoven. Following his triumphs as Piotr Tchaikovsky and Irving Berlin in 2017-2018, the brilliant Hershey Felder will bring Ludwig van Beethoven to life through the eyes of a Viennese doctor who spent his boyhood by the Maestro's side in Beethoven. Directed by Joel Zwick, performances of Hershey Felder, Beethoven run February 21 - March 24, 2019, at the Lyceum Stage Theatre. Tickets start at $25 and are currently on sale to the general public. Beethoven previews on February 21, with press opening on Friday, February 22 at 8:00 p.m.

The 2019 Freihofer's Saratoga Jazz Festival features an extraordinary roster of twenty-two musical groups, highlighted by the festival debut of Grammy award winning artist Norah Jones, and the return of jazz legend George Benson and festival favorite Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. Back by popular demand is also Los Van Van 50th Anniversary, Django Festival All-Stars with Edmar Castañeda and Grace Kelly, Joshua Redman Quartet, and James Carter Organ Trio. The Music Conservatory of Westchester announces four in-depth musical experiences as its new Musical Masters Lecture Series begins on Sundays at 2 PM during spring 2019. The award-winning Aeolus Quartet is joined by revered clarinetist Franklin Cohen, former principal of the Cleveland Orchestra, for three concerts on the Chamber Music Society of Detroit's new regional partner series. The concerts take place Friday, January 18, 7:30 PM in the Patriot Theater at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial; Saturday, January 19, 7:30 PM at the Village Theater at Cherry Hill in Canton; and Sunday, January 20, 3:00 PM at Oakland University's Varner Recital Hall in Rochester Hills. The program features Mozart's masterful Clarinet Quintet, as well as an early Beethoven Quartet, Op. 18, No. 3 in D major, and American composer Ben Johnston's String Quartet No. 4, Variations on Amazing Grace.

Irvine Barclay Theatre was recently informed that Bebe Neuwirth is withdrawing from her concert engagement at Irvine Barclay Theatre on March 16th. Scheduling conflicts will preclude her from being able to perform at the Barclay as planned. In her stead, the Barclay is announcing a performance on the same date, March 16, 2019 at 8pm, of 4 GIRLS 4 featuring four legendary Broadway singers and actresses.

As the Hungarian State Opera makes its U.S. debut, the company is joined by two of its greatest supporters, Eva Marton and Plácido Domingo, who make special guest appearances to celebrate these milestone performances (October 30 – November 11). Ms. Marton gives a speech in honor of the HSO at the State Opera and National Ballet Gala, which takes place at Lincoln Center's David H. Koch Theater on Sunday, November 4 at 7:00 p.m. The following evening—Monday, November 5 at 8:00 p.m.—Mr. Domingo conducts the HSO Orchestra as it makes its Carnegie Hall debut. He also makes his own Carnegie Hall conducting debut with this performance.

Segerstrom Center for the Arts launches its 2018-2019 Chamber Series with the acclaimed Escher String Quartet on November 1, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. in Samueli Theater. Since its founding in 2005, the quartet has quickly garnered the reputation as one of the finest young string ensembles performing today. Their instrumental interplay, which combines technical precision with warmth and vitality, has reaped accolades nationally and abroad, and elicited invitations from Itzhak Perlman and Pinchas Zukerman to be the quartet-in-residence at their respective summer festivals. In a review, The Strad wrote, "…a level of individual technical precision and a collective musical purpose that is endlessly compelling … Sheer brilliance." Quartet members include Adam Barnett-Hart and Danbi Um, violins; Pierre Lapointe, viola; and Brook Speltz, cello.
