LAZARUS SYNDROME, an acclaimed new comedy by Bruce Ward about the power of faith and family, is Richmond Triangle Players' entry into the city-wide Acts of Faith festival.  The production opens Thursday, February 25 at 8 pm, following a low-priced preview on Wednesday, February 24 at 8 pm.  RTP's production is the play's second, following its premiere at DC's Theatre Alliance in 2007.

After a successful weekend of previews, Loft Ensemble is excited to open our newest world premiere this Saturday. The Aeroplane is a world premiere drama written and directed by Mitch Rosander that deals head on with the issues of addiction, recovery, and self-identity.

The Donmar announces full casting for the UK premiere of Elegy by playwright Nick Payne. Directed by Artistic Director Josie Rourke, the full cast is Barbara Flynn as Carrie, Nina Sosanya as Miriam and Zoe Wanamaker as Lorna, all making a return to the Donmar stage. Elegy starts previews from 21 April and imagines a very-near future in which radical and unprecedented advances in medical science mean that it's now possible to extend life.

As BroadwayWorld reported yesterday, Patricia Elliott, who won a Tony Award for her Broadway debut in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, has passed away. Her niece, Sally Fay, said Elliott died of cancer on Sunday, December 20 at her home in Manhattan. She was 77.

La Jolla Playhouse, nationally-renowned for its development of new work, has announced four world-premiere productions for the 2016/2017 season, including works by Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro, Pulitzer Prize winners Quiara Alegria Hudes and Ayad Akhtar, and 2014 Barrie and Bernice Stavis Playwriting Award winner Jeff Augustin.

The full cast is announced today for The Mother, transferring to the Tricycle Theatre from Ustinov Studio in Bath. Gina McKee, Richard Clothier and William Posthelwaite reprise their original roles and are joined by new cast member Frances McNamee. The production opens on 26 January, with previews from 21 January, and runs until 5 March.

The season features the welcome return of Steve Martin (Bright Star) with the World Premiere of his new play Meteor Shower, an adult comedy, directed by Gordon Edelstein, in a co-production with Long Wharf Theatre, where he serves as Artistic Director. Paul Gordon's musical Sense and Sensibility will have its West Coast premiere, presented in association with Chicago Shakespeare Theater, where it had its world premiere in February 2015, directed by CST Artistic Director Barbara Gaines. The Summer Shakespeare Festival will include Macbeth, directed by Brian Kulick, Artistic Director of Classic Stage Company, and Love's Labor's Lost, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall.

'[Thank you] to an incredible cast of British and American actors who make the Atlantic look like a little creek you can just kind of pop across,' said Dame Helen Mirren upon receiving her 2015 Tony Award.
