Lincoln Center Will Present SOUNDTRACK '63, a Live Musical and Multimedia Documentary

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts has announced the presentation of Soundtrack '63, May 1 at Alice Tully Hall. In this live musical documentary created by Soul Science Lab, audiences have a front row seat to a multimedia and musical retrospective of the Black experience in America from pre-transatlantic slavery to the present day. Performed by a 9-piece orchestra, vocal ensemble, and emcee, the production couples archival media of pivotal moments throughout Black history with a soundtrack of spirituals, protest songs, and popular music. As a live performance, it brings intergenerational audiences on a historical journey from the 17th century to present day and illuminates their role in creating substantive social change. Soundtrack '63 educates, inspires its audience, gives context to present day injustices, and asks important questions about our future.

The Film Festival is hosted by the Mandel Jewish Community Center of the Palm Beaches and will be held from January 26 to February 16, 2020 in theaters in Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter and Boynton Beach. Shattered Globe Theatre to Present Chicago Premiere of SHEEPDOG in January

The Shed Announces its 2020 Season

Alex Poots, Artistic Director and CEO of The Shed, today announced its 2020 Season of new productions by progressive artists from across the performing arts, visual arts, and pop culture, including live performances, solo exhibitions, and the final group of The Shed's inaugural Open Call series for emerging New York City-based artists. Poots also announced the appointment of Madani Younis, who joins The Shed in January as Chief Executive Producer. To celebrate the opening season as it draws to a close, The Shed will host its first open house, Meet at The Shed, on Saturday, January 11, 2020, featuring special pop-up events and free admission to its current exhibitions.
