As BroadwayWorld reported last week, after winning big at this year's GRAMMYs, the cast recording for Broadway's HAMILTON has reached a another huge milestone -- going gold.

The hit stage adaptation of beloved movie DIRTY DANCING: THE CLASSIC STORY ON STAGE and Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's original rock opera JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR light up The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza for the 2016-17 Broadway in Thousand Oaks Series.

Bruce Hampton & Aquarium Rescue Unit, The Lee Boys) on piano.

It was the summer of 1988 when I first heard the melodious JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR score. After church, Mamma and Nanny T would make rounds to the local garage sales and the original cast album was one of their finds. I had a vintage stereo with a record player and this was my solace after church or rehearsal. When Bayou City Theatrics announced this show my excitement ranneth over and I was ready to head to the theatre to see what the creatives had for the American Stage.

First announced back in 2009, BroadwayWorld.com has learned some updates today about the long gestating Bat Out of Hell, the Musical.

Performances begin tonight, Friday, March 20 and run through Sunday, April 12. Press night is scheduled for Opening Night Friday, March 27. Appropriate for ages 17 +. As a concert production, there will be no live nudity, though documentary photographs of the original production will be projected.

The Manatee Players, Inc.'s production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR opens in Stone Hall at the Manatee Performing Arts Center tonight, March 19 and plays through Sunday April 5, 2015.
