Terre Blair Hamlisch joined the cast of The Nutty Professor on stage Saturday, August 6 at Ogunquit Playhouse to pay tribute to her late husband, Marvin Hamlisch, on the 10th anniversary of his passing. The Nutty Professor was the last stage musical that Marvin Hamlisch completed before the composer died.

This morning, Broadway legends Bernadette Peters, Mandy Patinkin, and James Lapine stopped by CBS Sunday Morning to discuss their work on the Sondheim musical, Sunday in the Park with George. The musical was inspired by George Seurat's 1886 pointilist painting, 'A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.' The group visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art to inspect a smaller study by Seurat of the same piece. Lapine discusses visiting Sondheim with a postcard image of the painting and how they went about dissecting the artwork for their Broadway classic.

The Statue of Liberty Museum on Liberty Island opened to the public today following a dedication ceremony presented by The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Inc. The ceremony featured performances by Tony Award Nominee Laura Osnes, Tony Award Nominee Lilli Cooper and Javier Muñoz. They paid tribute to Irving Berlin by performing some of his iconic songs including 'God Bless America,' 'Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor,''Shaking the Blues Away,' and 'Blue Skies' to celebrate the opening of this new museum.
