After producing ten Main Stage shows in ten months to celebrate its tenth anniversary season, The Onyx has settled into a more comfortable groove.

Support two great causes through a night of musical theatre fun - with a twist. Local and Broadway talent will perform gender-swapped Broadway hits for the third annual "Broadway Twisted" benefit concert at Chapel Hill's Local 506 on Monday, April 11 at 8:00pm, produced by Wagon Wheel Arts with support from PlayMakers Repertory Company.

Center Theatre Group's Ahmanson Theatre has a high-profile lineup slated for its 50th Anniversary Season.

In association with Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Liss Fain Dance has announced the world premiere of TACIT CONSENT, an immersive performance installation with sound design and score by Dan Wool. Additional collaborators include installation designer Matthew Antaky and costume designer Mary Domenico. Tacit Consent runs Thursday, May 5 through Sunday, May 8 at the Forum at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. Tickets are $20 to $35, and may be purchased online at tickets.ybca.org. 

The Garden Theatre, located at 160 West Plant Street in historic Winter Garden, is pleased to announce its 2016-2017 Theatre Season, running from September 2016 - May 2017.  In addition to the six full-length theatrical presentations, the season will be dotted with weekend events such as music and dance concerts, as well as movies and holiday offerings. Kevin Smith Kirkwood, who is now appearing on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots, is bringing CLASSIC WHITNEY: ALIVE! back to New York by popular demand. This new play for the '99%' immortalizes Italian-American Ferdinand Pecora's valiant effort to expose the malignant and deceptive practices of Wall Street's most elite financiers and bankers including JP Morgan Jr., based on actual transcripts from the 1933 United States Senate Banking Committee hearings to determine the root causes of the 1929 stock market crash. New York Festival of Song's contemporary song series NYFOS Next -- dubbed 'invaluable' by The New Yorker and The New York Times -- enters its sixth season and continues its new format: a three-concert February mini-festival in the intimate state-of-the-art recital hall at OPERA America's National Opera Center. The Thursday concerts take place today, February 4, as well as February 11, and 18, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.

The Casting Society of America (CSA) will honor the recipients of its three major annual special awards at the 31st Artios Awards gala tonight, January 21, 2016.

California Musical Theatre and BroadwayWorld bring you the 2016 lineup for Sacramento Music Circus at the Wells Fargo Pavilion, the 66th season for the venerable institution. Now that 2015 is squarely in the rearview mirror, and everyone is back to work after the holidays, it is time to take a look at some of the best films of the past year. As was the case with my Top 15 TV Shows of 2015 list, this is not intended to be a comprehensive list. I am one man, and I have not yet seen every major movie released last year. However, as I continue to work through screeners and upcoming screenings (I live in Orlando, so not all of the awards-bait has been released here yet), I will count down the top 2015 releases that I saw during the calendar year. Notable omissions are BRIDGE OF SPIES, THE REVENANT, THE DANISH GIRL, and CONCUSSION, all of which I hope to see by the end of the week.

Theatre Aspen School's Winter Conservatory production of the eleven-time Tony Award-nominated musical comedy DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS begins tonight, December 17, at the Aspen District Theatre, and runs through December 19th.
