Museum of the Moving Image will present the most comprehensive U.S. retrospective of all of the Polish director's features, short films, early documentary work, and a marathon viewing of the Dekalog, from October 7 through November 6, 2016. The series will also include four posthumous works based on Kieslowski's unproduced screenplays.

Griffin Theatre Company is pleased to announce its 29th Season, featuring three productions exploring the American Dream. The 2016-17 season kicks off this fall with a rare revival of Maxwell Anderson's 1930s drama WINTERSET, directed by Ensemble Member Jonathan Berry (Pocatello, Balm in Gilead). The season continues next spring with the world premiere of IN TO AMERICA, a 400-year journey through the immigrant experience written by Artistic Director Bill Massolia (Letters Home) and directed by Dorothy Milne. The season concludes next summer with a newly-orchestrated (Matt Deitchman) chamber version of the Tony Award-winning musical RAGTIME, reimagined by director Scott Weinstein (Titanic, Bat Boy: The Musical) and featuring a cast of 20 actors.

According to Entertainment Weekly, when Rob Marshall, the director of the upcoming film, first told Julie Andrews the top-secret news that Emily Blunt would be playing the titular character in the highly-anticipated sequel, her reaction was, 'Oh, wonderful!'

The Public Theater recently announced that Louis Cancelmi, last seen as Caliban in the Shakespeare in the Park production of The Tempest, had stepped into the company of Troilus and Cressida as Achilles, replacing David Harbour, who suffered an injury during previews and will be unable to complete the run. The play celebrates its opening tonight, August 9, after a short delay.

According to Variety, Oscar-winner Meryl Streep is in talks to join Lin-Manuel Miranda and Emily Blunt in the upcoming MARY POPPINS RETURNS coming from Disney in 2018. According to the publication, 'Streep is said to play the role of Poppins' cousin, Topsy, a supporting role that wasn't in the 1964 classic. Streep would also sing for the part, much like she did in "Into the Woods," which earned her a record 19th Oscar nomination.'

The Neo-Futurists announce their inaugural line-up for The Neo-Futurist Kitchen (a micro-festival on art and performance) with their 2016-17 Season, which includes three world premieres, multiple in-process initiatives and a 24-hour party. Can't Stop//Won't Stop: A 24-Hour Fundraiser with The Neo-Futurists launches the 28th season with local bands and pop-up performances, all benefitting the company's 2016-17 season and programs. The 28th season includes three full-length Prime Time productions: Saturn Returns created by Tif Harrison; The? Unicorn? Hour? created by Leah Urzendowski and Anthony Courser and The Food Show created by Dan Kerr-Hobert and Caitlin Stainken. The company continues its Neo-Lab residency, presenting Kirsten Riiber's Tangles and Plaques. In addition to beginning the 28th year of Chicago's longest running show, Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind, The Neo-Futurists expand their recurring storytelling performances with The Arrow, created by Kurt Chiang and Lily Mooney and explore a new Neo-structure through Nick Hart's The Infinite Whale. In association with Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Liss Fain Dance has announced the world premiere of TACIT CONSENT, an immersive performance installation with sound design and score by Dan Wool. Additional collaborators include installation designer Matthew Antaky and costume designer Mary Domenico. Tacit Consent runs Thursday, May 5 through Sunday, May 8 at the Forum at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. Tickets are $20 to $35, and may be purchased online at tickets.ybca.org.
