Support two great causes through a night of musical theatre fun - with a twist. Local and Broadway talent will perform gender-swapped Broadway hits for the third annual "Broadway Twisted" benefit concert at Chapel Hill's Local 506 on Monday, April 11 at 8:00pm, produced by Wagon Wheel Arts with support from PlayMakers Repertory Company.

Proceeds from the event will benefit two organizations: New York's Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) and the NC AIDS Action Network (NCAAN), an NC-based AIDS advocacy organization.

Music director Mark Hartman (Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, and many others) will lead the band, which also includes TJ Richardson, Nathan Huvard, and Jake Waits of Bears in the City. Arielle Yoder and Jorge Donoso (Three Sisters and Peter and the Starcatcher at PlayMakers) will direct.

Tickets are $10, and can be purchased at the door or online at www.local506.com. Raffle tickets will also be on sale at the event. Prize items include Broadway memorabilia, tickets to local theater venues, and more. Please note: Due to NC Liquor Laws, membership is required to attend shows at Local 506. Memberships are $3 and available at the door on the night of the performance.

Sponsors Broadway Twisted is produced by UNC's Department of Dramatic Art with support from PlayMakers Repertory Company and Man Bites Dog Theater.

Recipient Organizations Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) is one of the nation's leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations. By drawing upon the talents, resources and generosity of the American theatre community, since 1988 BC/EFA has raised more than $225 million for essential services for people with AIDS and other critical illnesses across the United States. BC/EFA awards annual grants to more than 450 AIDS and family service organizations nationwide and is the major supporter of the social service programs at The Actors Fund, including the HIV/AIDS Initiative, the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative, the Al Hirschfeld Free Health Clinic, The Dancers' Resource and the Stage Managers' Project. www.broadwaycares.org

The NC AIDS Action Network (NCAAN) is North Carolina's only statewide advocacy organization dedicated to fighting for the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS, their loved ones, and those at risk of acquiring HIV/AIDS in North Carolina. NCAAN and our thousands of Action Team members advocate for sound policies that improve access to care and prevent new cases of HIV, educate the public about HIV/AIDS related issues, challenge stigma, and strengthen our statewide community of advocates living with HIV/AIDS and allies. www.ncaan.org
