Dan Levinson and his all-star band celebrate the music of those early days of jazz at the Bickford Theatre for one night only on Monday, February 26th at 7:30 pm. Entitled Dan Levinson's Jazz 101: The Trailblazers of America's Original Art Form, the concert features the music of King Oliver, Louis Armstrong, the Original Dixieland Jazz Band, Jelly Roll Morton, The New Orleans Rhythm Kings, Clarence Williams, Eddie Condon, Duke Ellington and more.

Music Director Thierry Fischer and President & CEO Paul Meecham today announced the Utah Symphony's 2018-19 season, with highlights including the live recording of a Berlioz album for Hyperion Records, semi-staged performances of Bernstein's "Candide" in celebration of the composer's centennial, and a cycle of Bach's six Brandenburg Concertos paired with works by the late composer Pierre Boulez. American composer Andrew Norman will be in Salt Lake City as Composer-in-Association for performances of his works and additional activities.

California Symphony presents two performances of MOZART REQUIEM at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek on Saturday March 17th at 8pm and Sunday March 18th at 4pm. This is the third of three concert sets in the Symphony's 2017-18 season to offer patrons a Saturday evening option in Walnut Creek, catering to rising demand for professional grade performances within easy reach of discerning East Bay consumers of culture and the arts. As a central component of its John D. (Jack) Lewis New Play Development Program, Milwaukee Repertory Theater announces its workshop reading series. Since 1958, Milwaukee Rep has premiered nearly 150 plays and musicals. Last season, The Rep announced the creation of the John D. (Jack) Lewis New Play Development Program to rededicate and increase The Rep's commitment to creating new work by producing up to five new plays across its three theaters each season. The workshop reading series allows audiences a sneak peek at The Rep's commissioned new plays in progress, as well as the chance to experience other new projects and writers under exploration.

The Central Works 2017 season concludes this Fall with Strange Ladies by Susan Sobeloff opening with a press night on Saturday October 14 running through November 12 (previews Oct 12 & 13) at the renowned Berkeley City Club. Strange Ladies is a Central Works Method Musical inspired by the Suffrage movement. The production is told with music of the period under the musical direction of Milissa Carey. 1917: a diverse group of Suffragists are fighting to gain the vote for women as the US entered World War I. Torn between loyalty to their political cause and loyalty to the war effort, these women each struggle to make difficult choices in a time of tremendous social upheaval. The personal pits each against the political in Strange Ladies.
