Artistic Director of Watford Palace Theatre, Brigid Larmour, today announces full casting for Watford Palace Theatre's all-female production of Much Ado About Nothing. Prepare for an illuminating journey when The Psychedelic Film and Music Festival holds its inaugural event featuring a lineup of science fiction, horror, fantasy, surrealist and virtual reality films, music and stage performances and panel discussions set to explore the altered states of consciousness and truth behind the vibrant and enduring psychedelic culture. The week-long gathering will feature musical performances by Simon Boswell with The AND, Psychic Ills, Heaven, Michael Tapper, Roosevelt Island and Nosh alongside appearances by researchers Dr. Dennis McKenna, Robert Barnhart and other special guests notable for breakthroughs in the psychedelic community. Premiering at venues in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens, the festival will run October 1-7, 2018.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) will present Mandy Patinkin in Concert: Diaries 2018. The concerts will take place at the Connelly Theater (220 East 4th Street) Wednesday, October 10 through Sunday, October 28, 2018. Tickets will be available to NYTW members and donors beginning at Noon EST on Wednesday, September 5 at NYTW.org. Limited tickets will go on sale to the general public on Thursday, September 20.

This September features many new titles coming to Amazon Prime. Prime Original series King Lear will become available on Prime Video on September 28th. Other Prime Originals coming to the service in September include series premieres of Six Dreams (Sep 7) and Forever (Sep 14) as well as season 1a of Pete the Cat (Sep 7) and season 2b of Wishenpoof (Sep 7). The 3rd annual Hip Hop Film Festival was held, fittingly, at the historic National Black Theatre founded by Dr. Barbara Ann Teer who moved to Harlem in 1968 and saw that the once vibrant neighborhood was suffering from a sense of hopelessness after the losses of African American leaders Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X and desperately needed a community space and cultural arts institution that would 'be reflective of the power, grace and excellence of a people' (according to her daughter and current CEO Sade Lythcott).

Ask composer Eric Moe, whose work has been described by others as “music of winning exuberance” and “maximal minimalism,” to describe his music, and he writes, “Although the surfaces and genres are varied, my works share a concern for rhythmic propulsion and a disregard for stylistic orthodoxies.” Winner of numerous honors and awards, Moe is the Andrew W. Mellon Professor of Music at the University of Pittsburgh and founder of that city's Music on the Edge new music concert series.

Previews begin this Friday, June 1 for the Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) world premiere production of LOG CABIN, a new play by Pulitzer Prize finalist Jordan Harrison (Marjorie Prime, Maple and Vine, Doris to Darlene at Playwrights; "Orange Is the New Black").  Directed by Tony Award and Obie Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Clybourne Park, The Qualms at Playwrights; Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, The Parisian Woman), LOG CABIN is the sixth and final production of the theater company's current 2017/2018 Season.  

Belka Productions, in collaboration with The Maly Drama Theatre and their London presentation of Life and Fate, have partnered with JW3, the London Jewish Cultural Centre, to present two events in conjunction with the show that both explore and celebrate banned writing through the ages.

The Artistic Home Ensemble will present the Chicago premiere of Lauren Gunderson's ADA AND THE ENGINE as the final entry in its three-play 2018-19 season, according to company Artistic Director Kathy Scambiatterra, who announced the season today. The 36-year-old Gunderson was the most-produced playwright in America during 2017, according to American Theatre Magazine.

Broadway In Boston, Boston's mainstage for Broadway, has unveiled the upcoming 2018-2019 Lexus Broadway Season during its annual spring announcement event at the Boston Opera House.  Eleven theatrical productions will take center stage at the Boston Opera House and the Emerson Colonial Theatre.  Over 1500 people from around the city gathered for the annual celebration including Broadway In Boston's Season ticket holders, group leaders, arts and business leaders, city officials, partners from around the city, sponsors and the Boston media.  Highlights from the day included live performances from cast members of DEAR EVAN HANSEN, ROALD DAHL'S CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, SCHOOL OF ROCK and A BRONX TALE.
