Bill Hanney's Theatre By The Sea (TBTS) concludes the 2017 summer season with THE PRODUCERS, the Mel Brooks laugh-out-loud spectacle. THE PRODUCERS, runs for a special 4-week engagement starting Wednesday, August 16 and ending Sunday, September 10.

The following acts are performing at City Winery Chicago, 1200 W. Randolph Street, throughout the month of August. Featured performances include three shows with Rachelle Ferrell on August 4-5, Roomful of Blues' on their 50th anniversary tour on August 17, Grammy award-winner Rickie Lee Jones on August 20, Welsh alt-rock group The Alarm on August 28 and more. Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full casting and creative team for the world premiere of AIN'T TOO PROUD-THE TEMPTATIONS MUSICAL. The musical stage production will be directed by Tony Award winner Des McAnuff. Berkeley Rep presents the show by special arrangement with Ira Pittelman and Tom Hulce (American Idiot, Spring Awakening).

Nearly 100,000 young people converged on the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, turning the Bay Area into the epicenter of a cultural phenomenon known as the Summer of Love. During this transformative time, music, fashion, art and new ideas flourished and there was a feeling that everything was possible.  

Seminal British folk rock band Fairport Convention's 50 th anniversary will be celebrated on July 28 with two exciting releases via A&M/UMe a lavish 7CD box set chronicling their extraordinary first decade entitled, Come All Ye The First Ten Years, and a 180-gram vinyl reissue of their influential classic album, Liege & Lief. The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center and AEG Presents announced today that tickets for Taj Mahal/Keb' Mo' will go on sale Friday, March 17 at 10 a.m. Grammy award-winning American blues musician, Taj Mahal and three-time Grammy winner and visionary roots-music storyteller, Keb' Mo' will perform for one night only at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Strauss Square in the downtown Dallas Arts District. 

The Las Vegas Symphony Orchestra is returning to the stage following a 13-year public absence with a new owner, Shea Arender, who will join the Orchestra this Spring with a performance entitled 'The King Symphonic - The Music of Elvis Presley.'

Enchantment abounds as the season continues with the Bay Area Premiere of Marc Norman, Tom Stoppard and Lee Hall's effervescent romance, Shakespeare in Love, coming to MTC this holiday season. In the Elizabethan era, when women are forbidden to become actors, what's a stage-struck lady to do? Lady Viola de Lesseps adores plays, especially those by a young writer named Will Shakespeare, but can only look on longingly as men and boys perform them. Will, meanwhile, has his own struggles: his inspiration fled, his debts and unwritten commissions piling up…until he meets an unknown young player named Thomas Kent, who speaks his words as he's always dreamed they'd be spoken, and a beautiful woman named Viola, who could be just the muse he needs. Under the direction of MTC artistic director Jasson Minadakis, this stage adaptation of the beloved film finds its true essence: a love letter to the power of theatre and the imagination.

Six-time Tony Award-winning costume designer CATHERINE ZUBER and legendary scenic designer TONY STRAIGES are among the 2017 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients which were just announced by Theatre Development Fund (TDF), a not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts.

Now, is the time for this. As we enter into a new year, with a new incoming Commander-in-Chief, while also celebrating the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. on MLK Day, THE MOUNTAINTOP could not come at a more perfect time and shed a more beautiful light.
