RAGTIME: The Musical, currently being presented brilliantly by Actors' Repertory Theatre of Simi at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center through December 4, 2016, is set in the volatile melting pot of turn-of-the-century New York. Based on the classic E. L. Doctorow novel, featuring a Tony Award-winning book by Terrence McNally, RAGTIME weaves together three distinctly American tales -- that of a stifled suburban mother represented by Mother, the matriarch of a white upper-class family in New Rochelle, New York; Tateh, an inventive Jewish immigrant from Latvia; and Coalhouse Walker Jr., a daring young Harlem musician - all united by their courage, compassion and belief in the promise of the future in America at the turn of the 20th Century.

Following the critically acclaimed, sell out production of Titanic, Thom Sutherland, Artistic Director of the Charing Cross Theatre directs a new production of Ragtime, playing for a strictly limited season. 

Ragtime is an epic musical that characterizes the changing times in America at the turn of the last century. Curtain Call's production will continue in The Kweskin Theatre through October 22 at the Sterling Farms Theatre Complex, 1349 Newfield Avenue, Stamford. Der Erfolg 1998 in New York war immens und bescherte Komponist Stephen Flaherty und Buchautor Terrence McNally jeweils eine der begehrten Tony-Awards. Nach weiteren Erfolgen in London, Washington und abermals am Broadway erreicht RAGTIME nun am Staatstheater Braunschweig endlich auch das europaische Festland. Am vergangenen Freitag war Premiere, und das Publikum zeigte sich begeistert von diesem historischen, sozialkritischen Musical, und belohnte die Auffuhrung mit einer Standing Ovation.

Porchlight Music Theatre launches its 2015-16 season with SIDE SHOW, running September 11 - October 18, directed by Porchlight Music Theatre artistic director Michael Weber with music direction by Aaron Benham, choreography by Andrew Waters, music by Henry Krieger, and book & lyrics by Bill Russell, at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. Previews will run Friday, Sept. 11 at 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m., and Monday, Sept. 14 7:30 p.m. The opening night is Friday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the cast in costume below!
