Philadelphia Theatre Company kicks off its 2017-2018 festival-style theatre season with the world premiere of Ruggedly Jewish: An Evening With Bob Garfield. Garfield's crazy-quilt, hilarious odyssey is a search for self: the American self, the suddenly-emerging threatened self, and his own baffled self - a secular Jew. The Lower Merion native, and the co-host of public radio's On The Media, returns to his roots by launching his one-man show right here. The show is three performances only, on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 8:00pm, and Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 3:00pm and 8:00pm. All performances are held at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (480 S. The eagerly awaited London Fringe Premiere of 9 to 5 The Musical opens on Wednesday 29th August 2017 at Upstairs at the Gatehouse, Highgate village and runs until Sunday 1st October 2017. This hilarious musical comedy is based on the hit film of the same name and has music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick based on the screenplay by Patricia Resnick and Colin Higgins.

Milagro is excited to announce the inaugural INGENIO Play Fest. INGENIO is a new play and playwright development program for Latina/o playwrights. Four plays were selected after a national request for submissions and will be presented in a concert readings over three days, September 8-10, 2017, following a week of rehearsals. During the rehearsal process, playwrights will work with guest artist Daniel Jaquez, directors, and dramaturgs in the continued development of the scripts, preparing them for a full production. Each reading will be followed by a moderated feedback session, led by guest artist Daniel Jaquez and other guests. Jacob's Pillow Dance Award recipient John Heginbotham and acclaimed illustrator and author Maira Kalman join forces in the world premiere of The Principles of Uncertainty, closing the Festival in the Doris Duke Theatre, August 23-27.
