The interrelated dramatic monologues range from tragedy to comedy in a 'newsical' revue that examines pressing social issues from an African-American female perspective. Sistas on Fire! A Newsical uses theatre to provoke thought, encourage social activism, and build bridges that cross race, class, gender and culture. In short, it's For Colored Girls for the New Millennium.

Broadway superstar, and Tony Award nominee, Adam Pascal comes to Hollywood Boulevard for one week only, beginning today, January 15. Adam Pascal will play Edward Lewis through Sunday, January 20, 2019, during Andy Karl's time off.

11th Hour Theatre Company's Spotlight Series continues with Elena Camp and Rajeer Alford. The McCallum Theatre announces the return engagement for Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS for eight performances, January 15 through January 20.  Opening night performance on Tuesday, January 15 is presented through the generosity of Jerry and Sarah Mathews. JERSEY BOYS is the behind-the-music story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. They were just four guys from Jersey, until they sang their very first note. They had a sound nobody had ever heard, and the radio just couldn't get enough. But while their harmonies were perfect on stage, off stage it was a very different story, a story that has made them an international sensation all over again. The show features all their hits including "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Oh What a Night," "Walk Like a Man," "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" and "Working My Way Back to You."

BroadwayCon has announced the award-winning Mean Girls cast and creative team has joined the BroadwayCon 2019 lineup.

Actor/Director Charles Weldon, who was Artistic Director of The Negro Ensemble Company (NEC) since 2005, died December 7 at Mt. Sinai Hospital, NYC. He was 78.

Producer Paula Wagner announced today that PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL will welcome Broadway superstar, and Tony Award nominee Adam Pascal to Hollywood Boulevard for one week only. As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this month, Broadway producer Jerry Frankel passed away on November 17, 2018 at 88 years of age.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast and creative team for Paradise Square: An American Musical. The world premiere is helmed by acclaimed director Moises Kaufman, with choreography by the legendary Bill T. Jones and a book by Marcus Gardley, Craig Lucas, and Larry Kirwan. Music by Jason Howland and Larry Kirwan, with lyrics by Nathan Tysen, and based on the songs of Stephen Foster. Paradise Square is produced by special arrangement with Garth H.
