Jessica Stone is the director of Shakespeare Theatre Company's upcoming production of Vanity Fair, adapted by playwright Kate Hamill from the novel by William Makepeace Thackeray. Stone has worked as an actress on and off-Broadway, in television and in film for the last 30 years, and has been directing for the last decade.

Producers Donna Gigliotti and Glenn Weiss today announced 11 key members of the production team for the 91st Oscars, which will air live on Sunday, Feb. 24, on ABC. It was previously announced that Weiss would be returning as director for his fourth consecutive year, while sharing producing duties with Gigliotti for the first time.

'Bring it On' meets 'Dreamgirls' in the girl-group musical, 'Betty and the Belrays' by William Electric Black aka Ian Ellis James, which will be presented by Theater for the New City January 31 to February 17. The piece tells the story of three white female singers from Detroit who struggle to change a racially divided society by singing for a black record label. Book and lyrics are by William Electric Black. Music is by Black, Valerie Ghent (arranger/keyboards for Ashford & Simpson) and Gary Schreiner. Choreography is by Jeremy Lardieri. Director is Mr. Black.

One of the silver screen's most popular musicals, Singin' in the Rain comes to the stage of Woodbury's Arts Center of Cannon County with all the trappings of a box office smash: memorable score, talented actors and enough technical razzle-dazzle to delight even the most discerning of theater-goers. The Directors Guild of America  today announced the nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Television, Commercials and Documentary for 2018.

Adult casting has been announced for the 10th Anniversary Australian Tour of Billy Elliot the Musical which opens at Sydney Lyric Theatre in October 2019 followed by seasons in Melbourne at the Regent Theatre from February 2020, Crown Theatre Perth from June 2020, QPAC's Lyric Theatre in Brisbane from July 2020 and the Festival Theatre at Adelaide Festival Centre from September 2020.

Alisha Bates, from La Quinta, is planning to sing and dance from California to Europe, as part of the January 2019 UP WITH PEOPLE six-month tour. She is currently trying to raise the final $3000 to participate.

The McCallum Theatre announces the return engagement for Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS for eight performances, January 15 through January 20.  Opening night performance on Tuesday, January 15 is presented through the generosity of Jerry and Sarah Mathews. JERSEY BOYS is the behind-the-music story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. They were just four guys from Jersey, until they sang their very first note. They had a sound nobody had ever heard, and the radio just couldn't get enough. But while their harmonies were perfect on stage, off stage it was a very different story, a story that has made them an international sensation all over again.
