The Met today announced a new season of live performances with in-person audiences beginning fall 2021 and a new Artist in Residence, the acclaimed dancer and choreographer Bijayini Satpathy. Beginning in October, performances will once again take place in galleries throughout the Museum, as well as in the Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium, and will feature MetLiveArts commissions and leading international musicians and composers.  

Good Theater will return to the St. Lawrence stage with a season of new works, recent Broadway hits, and the long-awaited Maine premiere of the critically acclaimed off-Broadway musical DESPERATE MEASURES, a production which has been on-hold since 2020, when its run was postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Downtown Urban Arts Festival has announced the honored plays from its 19th season including Antoinette Ellis-Williams, won Best Play for her solo performance of Scarf Diaries. Mary E. Weems won Best Short Play for Slapped.

BIRDLAND THEATER will present “The Lineup” with Susie Mosher – the wild, anything-goes variety show featuring entertainers from the Broadway, cabaret and comedy scenes – every Tuesday evening at 8:30 PM.

Never morbid, Elegies is touching, funny, and ultimately buoyant; floating on the spirits of those who inhabit its songs.

It is 21 years since Steamworks Productions made their debut performance with SAVAGE GRACE. To celebrate their birthday, they returned to their inaugural production, bringing along the original creatives and cast to make it happen. TimeLine Theatre Company announced today that Managing Director Elizabeth K. Auman will be transitioning her responsibilities away from day-to-day management of the company in order to focus exclusively on the project management necessary to guide TimeLine’s new home development in Uptown.

In 2001 Sally Richardson founded Steamworks Arts. Their first wort was a hit, enjoying two runs in Perth before being invited to Sydney, as well as being recorded for ABC Radio Drama. Steamworks are returning to SAVAGE GRACE with the same cast and crew to celebrate and reflect upon how the company, the people, and the world have changed since.

On October 10, pianist Jeffrey Siegel officially relaunches indoor Hylton Presents performances in Merchant Hall with his concerts with commentary Keyboard Conversations Classics Declassified. Siegel hands off the baton to the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra on October 30 for their Big Band Era performance Swingin' with the Met.

There will be no tickets required. The public is invited to come as they please, and bring their own blankets and picnics. Tetreault also plans to invite members of the Biden administration and other prominent figures to the performance.
