Actresses Louise Dearman and Laura Pitt-Pulford have an impressive musical haul between them, with Louise the first actress to star as both Glinda and Elphaba in Wicked, as well as starring in Guys and Dolls and Kiss Me, Kate, while Laura's recent credits include Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Flowers for Mrs Harris and Oliver! They're now playing conjoined twins Daisy and Violet Hilton in the UK premiere of Side Show, by Dreamgirls composer Henry Krieger and Bill Russell, which opens at Southwark Playhouse next week.

Matthew Dunster will direct Rodney Ackland's Before The Party at the Almeida Theatre from 21 March - 11 May 2013. Based on a short story by Somerset Maugham, Before The Party has designs by Anna Fleischle with lighting by Philip Gladwell and sound by Ian Dickinson. Dunster's production of Before The Party will be the first in over 25 years.

And for those keeping track, the company is closing in on Alumnae's 100th birthday - February 2013 will mark # 95! Alumnae will officially celebrate its 100th season in 2019/2020 and present Moliere's Les Femmes Savantes, which was Alumnae Theatre's very first production, in February 1918.

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced that it will establish the New Century Theatre, a flexible use performance space on the street level of City Center in downtown Minneapolis. Launching this new 300 seat theatre is a key part of the Trust's work in continuing to revitalize Hennepin Avenue and increase its arts education and presenting activities. The New Century Theatre will be adjacent to the Trust's office headquarters which, as of July 1, 2011, will be located at 615 Hennepin Avenue, between 6th and 7th Streets, in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55402.
