Actresses Louise Dearman and Laura Pitt-Pulford have an impressive musical haul between them, with Louise the first actress to star as both Glinda and Elphaba in Wicked, as well as starring in Guys and Dolls and Kiss Me, Kate, while Laura's recent credits include Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Flowers for Mrs Harris and Oliver! They're now playing conjoined twins Daisy and Violet Hilton in the UK premiere of Side Show, by Dreamgirls composer Henry Krieger and Bill Russell, which opens at Southwark Playhouse next week.

Lookingglass Theatre Company continues its 28th Season with Thaddeus and Slocum: A Vaudeville Adventure, written by Ensemble Member Kevin Douglas, and co-directed by Ensemble Member J. Nicole Brooks and Krissy Vanderwarker. Thaddeus and Slocum: A Vaudeville Adventure runs June 1 - August 14, 2016 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson. The Press Opening is Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.

A total of 213 music teachers from 194 cities across 42 states have been announced as quarterfinalists for the Music Educator Award presented by The Recording Academy® and the GRAMMY Foundation®.

Prior to the show's opening on Broadway at the St. James Theatre, the creative team behind the innovative revival of the musical Side Show - director Bill Condon, composer Henry Krieger (Dreamgirls), librettist/ lyricist Bill Russell and scenic designer David Rockwell - visited THEATER TALK to share stories about the remarkable revitalization the 1997 musical has experienced under the stewardship of Condon on its return this fall to Broadway.

Tooting Arts Club presents Sweeney Todd, featuring Olivier nominated Siobhan McCarthy from the original London cast of Mamma Mia! and ITV's Bad Girls as Mrs Lovett, all set in London's oldest pie shop. Directed by Bill Buckhurst with musical director Ben Cox, Sweeney Todd (Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim; Book by Hugh Wheeler) will play Harrington's Pie and Mash Shop, Tooting, today 21st October to 29th November. Press night is set for Monday 27th October, 7.30pm.

The GRAMMY Foundation announced today that 167 talented high school students from 125 U.S. cities and 31 U.S. states have been selected as participants in the 10th annual GRAMMY Camp program.

GRAMMY-winning and -nominated professionals, industry specialists affiliated with The Recording Academy to participate in the GRAMMY Foundation's GRAMMY Camp for talented high school students in four cities this summer.

A total of 10 music teachers from ten cities across eight states have been announced as finalists for the first annual Music Educator Award presented by The Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Foundation. In total, more than 30,000 initial nominations were submitted from all 50 states.

Matthew Dunster will direct Rodney Ackland's Before The Party at the Almeida Theatre from 21 March - 11 May 2013. Based on a short story by Somerset Maugham, Before The Party has designs by Anna Fleischle with lighting by Philip Gladwell and sound by Ian Dickinson. Dunster's production of Before The Party will be the first in over 25 years.

The third season of Lincoln Center's White Light Festival continues in November with "The Spirit of the Body," a work by dancer/choreographer Malavika Sarukkai showcasing her exquisite interpretations of South India's classical dance, Bharatanatyam. Accompanied by four musicians from Madras, India, the performances are presented in the intimate setting of the Baryshnikov Arts Center.

And for those keeping track, the company is closing in on Alumnae's 100th birthday - February 2013 will mark # 95! Alumnae will officially celebrate its 100th season in 2019/2020 and present Moliere's Les Femmes Savantes, which was Alumnae Theatre's very first production, in February 1918.

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced that it will establish the New Century Theatre, a flexible use performance space on the street level of City Center in downtown Minneapolis. Launching this new 300 seat theatre is a key part of the Trust's work in continuing to revitalize Hennepin Avenue and increase its arts education and presenting activities.
