As a super-special Spring extension of BroadwayWorld's SOUND OFF column, every day until the Tony Awards on June 12 we will be presenting a spectacular new entry in the SPOTLIGHT ON THE 2011 TONY AWARDS series featuring a particularly entertaining, interesting, relevant and exciting Tony Awards-related clip from the last sixty-three years of the ceremonies (and subsequent seasons on Broadway) with a rundown and commentary on the sights, sounds and showmanship on display in each carefully chosen selection - all, of course, coming in anticipation of Broadway's biggest night, which will be broadcast on CBS this year, as always. Once again this year, BroadwayWorld is the official home of the 2011 Tony Awards and we will also be featuring exclusive interviews, articles, photos, video content, interactive features and more in the coming days and weeks leading up to the event so be sure to check back daily for your theatre fix!

THE OPEN BOOK's opening of its double bill production of MISTER JACK by MARVIN KAYE and the short one-act DON JUAN'S FINAL NIGHT by EDMOND ROSTAND has been rescheduled to open Thursday, August 12th at 8:15 pm. The production will run Thursdays - Saturdays at 8:15 pm and Sundays at 2:45 pm through August 29th. THE DRILLING COMPANY theatre is locate in the old home of the 78th Street Theatre Lab, 236 West 78th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam on the Upper West Side.

Emmy, Golden Globe and two time Academy Award winner Michael Douglas will be celebrated at the Film Society's 37th Annual Chaplin Award Gala on the evening of Monday May 24th at Alice Tully Hall. The limited ticket event will be attended by many of Douglas's most celebrated collaborators and friends, such as Danny Devito, Erika Christiansen, Milos Forman, Curtis Hanson, Tobey Maguire, Barbara Walters, as well as Douglas's wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and his father, the legendary Kirk Douglas, with a special performance by Michael's longtime-friend singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett, plus film clips commemorating Douglas's lauded career.
