For the delight of audiences aged 5 to 105, Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre will perform 'A Christmas Carol, Oy! Hanukkah, Merry Kwanzaa' from today, December 5 to 14, 2014 in The Club at La MaMa, 74A East Fourth Street. The show is an adaptation of Dickens' classic with Old World accents and New World inclusiveness. Perseverance Theatre (PT) presents the holiday classic adapted from Charles Dickens' Original by Arlitia Jones and Michael Evan Haney. A holiday favorite, A Christmas Carol, performs for two weeks December 19-28, with one Pay-As-You-Can preview on December 18, in the Discovery Theatre at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts. Tarragon Theatre's SEXTET Opens Tonight

Tarragon Theatre proudly presents the world premiere of Sextet, written and directed by the prolific, award-winning Morris Panych, one of Canada's most celebrated playwrights and directors. Chock-full of Panych's trademark wit, this hilarious comic drama about six sexually entangled musicians on an ill-fated winter tour opens tonight, November 12 and runs to December 14 (previewed from November 5) in Tarragon's Mainspace.

Tom Dugan's WIESENTHAL Begins Performances Tonight at Theatre Row

Tony Award winner Daryl Roth (Kinky Boots, The Normal Heart) and Karyl Lynn Burns (The Best is Yet to Come) present the New York premiere of Wiesenthal, the award-winning play written by and starring Tom Dugan and directed by Jenny Sullivan. Wiesenthal launches a limited 14-week engagement, from tonight, October 24 through February 1, at the Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row, (410 W. 42nd Street). Opening night is November 5.

James Conlon to Conduct LADY MACBETH OF MTSENSK at the Met, 11/10-29

Conductor James Conlon leads a rare revival of Shostakovich's Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk at the Metropolitan Opera in six performances beginning Monday, November 10, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. The cast for Graham Vick's production includes soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek in the title role as Katerina Ismailova, tenor Brandon Jovanovich as Sergei, tenor Raymond Very as Zinovy Ismailov, and baritone Anatoli Kotscherga as Boris Ismailov. Tenor Frank van Aken sings the role of Sergei in the November 21 performance.

NY Philharmonic Announces Worldwide Radio Broadcasts for Oct-Dec 2014

The October broadcasts of The New York Philharmonic This Week - the weekly radio series of concerts and recordings by the New York Philharmonic, hosted by Alec Baldwin - begins with Jeffrey Kahane conducting the New York Philharmonic in J.S. Bach's Concerto for Violin and Oboe, featuring Principal Associate Concertmaster Sheryl Staples (now the Orchestra's Acting Concertmaster) and Principal Oboe Liang Wang with Mr. Kahane leading from the harpsichord; Mozart's Symphony No. 33; and Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1, with Mr. Kahane conducting from the piano.
