'Over-the-top' and 'larger-than-life' are but two of the descriptive phrases that may be used in reference to both director Jason Lewis and his latest theatrical project Reefer Madness the Musical - and, in both instances, they are equally justified. In all honesty, who else better than he to helm a production of the thoroughly madcap and deliciously campy musical now onstage at Darkhorse Theater through this weekend as the final show of ACT 1's 2016-17 season?

Cyndi Lauper and NEW GIRL Writer to Adapt WORKING GIRL for Broadway

Producers Fox Stage Productions and Aged In Wood Productions have announced plans to adapt the blockbuster film WORKING GIRL into a Broadway musical with music and lyrics by Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award-winner Cyndi Lauper and book by FOX TV's 'New Girl' writer and Tigers Be Still playwright Kim Rosenstock. WORKING GIRL is based upon the Twentieth Century Fox motion picture written by Kevin Wade.

16th Annual Tribeca Film Festival Announces Lineup - 57 World Premieres, 40% Women Directed, Sports Themes and More!

The 16th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today announced its lineup of 57 thought-provoking and diverse short films in competition, including 36 world premieres. The selected shorts, 40% of which were directed by women, and include filmmakers from every corner of the globe, were curated from a record 4,385 submissions. They will be presented in 10 distinct competition programs, consisting of five narrative, four documentary, and, for the second year, one animated program. In addition, there is the Sports Shorts program as part of the 11th annual Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival, sponsored by Mohegan Sun. The Shorts program, sponsored by Nutella Originals, is a part of the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival, which runs April 19-30.

The Artistic Home Artistic Director Kathy Scambiatterra announced today that the company's production of By the Bog of Cats, by Marina Carr, will extend its run by an additional three weeks to meet the overwhelming demand for seats. The Chicago Tribune's Kerry Reid said of it 'Mossman and his cast dig into the textures of Carr's script with gusto and sensitivity. Collins gives a bravura performance.' The Artistic Home's production, which opened to the press on February 13,  is directed by Jeff Award winner and ensemble member John Mossman.
