HONORING DANNY GATTON Wednesday, May 24 at 9:30PM $20 Advance / $25 Door Danny Gatton (1945-1994) was a legendary Washington D.C.- based guitarist who was often called the greatest unknown player in the world. A guitarist's guitarist, he was an encyclopedia of American styles, jazz, rockabilly, blues, country, and rock n' roll, a virtuoso of the highest order who yet remained humble and true to his roots. Gatton counted as his admirers Vince Gill, James Burton, Mike Stern, Les Paul, and Russell Malone. These are the first NYC concerts to honor Gatton since the memorial shows that were held after his death in 1995. Performing guitarists include Oz Noy, Brandon Seabrook, Pete McCann, Joel Harrison, Dave Chappell, and Anthony Pirog. In keeping with the Guitar Summit's mission to foster daring and inventive approaches, curator Joel Harrison has invited both the old and new to perform. A mixture of Gatton allies from the D.C. area will combine with cutting-edge New York mavericks. Of special note is the appearance of longtime Gatton band mates John Previti and Barry Hart. This occasion will mark the NYC debut of the Anacostia Delta band featuring a frontline of three Telecasters (Chappell, Pirog, Harrison) propelled by Previti and Hart. The Alternative Guitar Summit, founded in 2010, is a yearly summit of daring, inventive players who emphasize new and unusual approaches to the guitar. The music we present celebrates the guitar's enormous range, beyond style or genre.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH WITH Catie Lazarus GUESTS: Edie Falco, Keegan-Michael Key, AND Bradley Whitford Thursday, May 25 at 7PM $30 Ever wonder what it's like to have a dreamy job? Comedian Catie Lazarus did too, so she created an utterly addictive, candid, fun talk show about work. Come see why The New York Times calls Employee of the Month "beloved" and Blackbook calls it comedian Catie Lazarus's "hilarious podcast talk show" and The New Yorker calls, "her line of inquiry is decidedly unorthodox." Featuring Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie, Sopranos), Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele, Think Twice), and Bradley Whitford (Get Out, Transparent, West Wing).

AN AUDIENCE WITH Molly Pope Thursday, May 25 at 9:30PM $20 Critically-acclaimed cabarettist Molly Pope returns to Joe's Pub with her album show, An Audience with Molly Pope. Drawing from a catalogue of re-contextualized pop, theater and standards, the "viscerally thrilling alto" (Time Out New York) wryly constructs and deconstructs herself with her signature neo-retro style. Part concert, monologue, sing-a-long and heart-to-heart, she echoes the heyday of Greenwich Village nightclubs in a current context. Pope's "powerhouse vocals and sassy wit" (Out.com) paint the madcap picture of a 21st century singer with the band. Pope is a singer and actor whose shows have played Joe's Pub, Ars Nova, Feinstein's/54Below and many more. She is the recipient of both the 2016 Bistro award for "Creative Cabaret Artistry" and the 2016 MAC Award for Musical Comedy Performer for her show "Molly Pope Likes Your Status." She has been named a Time Out New York "Top Ten Cabaret Act of 2008" and 2012 and a Village Voice Best of NYC 2011 for "Best Singer To Turn Life Into A Cabaret."
