Nimbus Dance Works presents the company's 2014 Jersey City Season at Grace Church Van Vorst, May 15-17.

After collaborations in 2012 and 2013 with an all-male cast, Tina Croll and Jamie Cunningham's The Men Dancers: From the Horse's Mouth make their return to New York May 30 through June 1 in honor of ballet great Frederic Franklin (1914-2013) in what would have been his centenary year. This celebration will take place at the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts (3 Spruce Street, between Park Row and Gold Street) and is presented by Pace University.

Scottsdale Musical Theater Company has announced their choreographer for Cabaret will be Bill Hotaling. Bill hails from New York where he danced and taught at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway. He has choreographed numerous productions over the years including productions of Chicago and Pippin and has worked extensively with Bob Fosse protege Chet Walker, who conceived and choreographed the 1999 Tony Award winning production of Fosse. Bill is the Founder and Artistic Director of Manhattan Dance Project, now in its 15th year of providing New York style dance workshops across the country and all over the world. He lives here in Phoenix with his wife Leah, a former Rockette dancer and their two sons. Bill and Leah own Conservatory of Dance, which is now the home base for SMTC for all rehearsals and auditions. Today in 1999, Fosse opened at the Broadhurst THeatre, where it ran for 1093 performances. Fosse is a three-act musical revue showcasing the choreography of Bob Fosse. The original Broadway production, conceived and directed by Richard Maltby, Jr. and Ann Reinking was choreographed by Reinking and Chet Walker. In 2002, Fosse, featuring Reinking and Ben Vereen, was aired as part of the Great Performances series on PBS television. A London production opened at the West End Prince of Wales Theatre on February 8, 2000 and closed January 6, 2001. The musical did not recreate the musical numbers as originally presented but instead had primarily black-and-white costumes (including the all-important hats), set against a simple setting.

New York City Ballet announced today that Principal Dancers Jenifer Ringer, Janie Taylor, Sebastien Marcovici, and Jonathan Stafford will retire from the Company during the 2014 Winter and Spring Seasons. All four of these Principal Dancers joined the Company during the 1990s as members of the corps de ballet, and have performed countless roles by numerous choreographers during careers spanning from 15 to 24 years with New York City Ballet.
