Delaware Theatre Company will close its 35th season with the 35th anniversary of the hit musical AIN'T MISBEHAVIN', conceived by Richard Maltby, Jr. and Murray Horwitz. Delaware Theatre Company's production will be directed by original Broadway director and co-creator Richard Maltby, Jr. and feature his own handpicked cast alongside the original designs from the 1978 Tony Award-winning production.

This week, two-time Tony and Emmy Award winner Bebe Neuwirth will play her final eight performances as Matron 'Mama' Morton in Broadway's record-breaking smash-hit musical Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.) Neuwirth, who won a 1997 Tony Award for her acclaimed portrayal of jazz-age killer Velma Kelly and returned ten years later as merry murderess Roxie Hart, concludes her history-making eight-week engagement as Matron 'Mama' Morton -- her third starring role in the production's 18-year run -- on Sunday, March 9. Beginning Monday, March 10, one of the Chicago family's most celebrated performers, stage and screen veteran Roz Ryan, returns to the role of Matron 'Mama' Morton.

Scottsdale Musical Theater Company has announced their choreographer for Cabaret will be Bill Hotaling. Bill hails from New York where he danced and taught at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway. He has choreographed numerous productions over the years including productions of Chicago and Pippin and has worked extensively with Bob Fosse protege Chet Walker, who conceived and choreographed the 1999 Tony Award winning production of Fosse. Bill is the Founder and Artistic Director of Manhattan Dance Project, now in its 15th year of providing New York style dance workshops across the country and all over the world. He lives here in Phoenix with his wife Leah, a former Rockette dancer and their two sons. Bill and Leah own Conservatory of Dance, which is now the home base for SMTC for all rehearsals and auditions. Bill is excited to be able to work Cabaret into his very busy travel schedule and looks forward to bringing authentic Bob Fosse style to SMTC's production.

Today in 1999, Fosse opened at the Broadhurst THeatre, where it ran for 1093 performances. Fosse is a three-act musical revue showcasing the choreography of Bob Fosse. The original Broadway production, conceived and directed by Richard Maltby, Jr. and Ann Reinking was choreographed by Reinking and Chet Walker. In 2002, Fosse, featuring Reinking and Ben Vereen, was aired as part of the Great Performances series on PBS television. A London production opened at the West End Prince of Wales Theatre on February 8, 2000 and closed January 6, 2001. The musical did not recreate the musical numbers as originally presented but instead had primarily black-and-white costumes (including the all-important hats), set against a simple setting.

New York City Ballet announced today that Principal Dancers Jenifer Ringer, Janie Taylor, Sebastien Marcovici, and Jonathan Stafford will retire from the Company during the 2014 Winter and Spring Seasons. All four of these Principal Dancers joined the Company during the 1990s as members of the corps de ballet, and have performed countless roles by numerous choreographers during careers spanning from 15 to 24 years with New York City Ballet.

Richard 'Bick' Goss, a noted New York City-based theater director and choreographer, former Bob Fosse dancer, and the Founder and Co-Artistic Director (with Frank Evans) of the non-profit musical theater development organization, Musical Mondays Theatre Lab, died this past Saturday, August 3, from complications related to Parkinson's Disease, which Mr. Goss had battled for more than five years. He was 75 years old.

As part of the Palace Theatre's Triple Threat Performer Intensive, Broadway veteran and current cast member of the Tony Award-winning revival of Pippin, Stephanie Pope will be at the theatre Tuesday at 11 a.m. to chat with this year's program participants. Over her career, Ms. Pope has performed in Bob Fosse hits Big Deal, Sweet Charity, Chicago (on Broadway and the national tour), and the 1999 Best Musical Tony-winning tribute Fosse. The performer will talk about performing on the 'big stage,' audition and performance techniques, and answer questions. Press and photographers are welcome.
