Toronto loves CHICAGO. Originally staged in 1998, a second time in 1999, a third time in 2003, and a fourth time in 2006, CHICAGO now returns for an unprecedented fifth encore engagement, for one week only, March 26 - 30, 2014, at the Princess of Wales Theatre.

Heading the cast in the role of 'Billy Flynn' will be two-time Olympic silver medalist, three-time world champion and seven-time Canadian national figure skating champion, Elvis Stojko.

Starring in the roles of the two 'killer dillers' will be Bianca Marroquin as 'Roxie Hart', Terra C. MacLeod as 'Velma Kelly' and Carol Woods as 'Matron "Mama" Morton'. The cast also includes Ron Orbach as Roxie's husband, 'Amos Hart' and C. Newcomer as 'Mary Sunshine'. All these performers have distinguished themselves in various CHICAGO productions around the world.

CHICAGO which opened to rave reviews on November 14th, 1996, and went on to win 6 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival and a Grammy Award for its cast recording, has the distinction of being the longest running American musical in Broadway history, and shows no signs of ever slowing down!

This dazzling production of CHICAGO pays homage to both the original 1975 Bob Fosse version and re-envisioned the John Kander/Fred Ebb/Bob Fosse musical. From the very first notes of the jazz orchestra, it was clear that this CHICAGO would be a landmark. CHICAGO went on to be produced around the world, from Australia to Russia, eventually leading to a film adaptation (shot in Toronto), that won a slew of Academy Awards, including Best Picture. The film success in turn led to renewed interest for the stage production. Having seen the film, audiences returned to see the original live.

Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s, CHICAGO is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who maliciously murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today's tabloids.

Produced by Tony Award winners, Barry and Fran Weissler, directed by David Hyslop and choreographed by David Bushman. Walter Bobbie is the director of the original New York Production and Ann Reinking was the original choreographer in the style of the legendary Bob Fosse. CHICAGO features the "razzle-dazzle" music and lyrics of master Broadway multi-award winning composers John Kander and Fred Ebb, with book by Mr. Ebb and Bob Fosse.

CHICAGO ... the jazz, the style, the music, and the dancing all add up to an experience that will exhilarate. CHICAGO is a production not to be missed. And all the reviewers agree. Time Magazine calls it "A Triumph," Newsweek raves "Smashing" and Entertainment Weekly sums it up by calling CHICAGO "Broadway's Most Electrifying Show."
