NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts will present Irish actress Lisa Dwan in her internationally acclaimed Beckett Trilogy:  Not /Footfalls/ Rockaby, running for six performances from April 13 - 17, 2016, at NYU Skirball Center.  Beckett Trilogy will open on April 13, the 110th Anniversary of Samuel Beckett's birth, and the opening night performances will feature a post-show celebration and conversation honoring Beckett's legacy.

In celebration of her life's work, Trisha Brown Dance Company returns to the choreographer's home state to perform the final performances of her works for the proscenium stage as part of a retrospective presented by University of Washington's World Series at Meany Hall.

Generations collide when a woman pays a surprise visit to the New York apartment of her late son's partner, who is now married to another man and has a young son. As she revisits the past, she begins to see the life her son might have led. The gangbusters theatre company presents SUNSHINE, written by William Mastrosimone & directed by Corryn Cummins, produced by Dana Lyn Baron, and starring Mary Kelsey, Donnie Smith and Adam Garst. The show runs as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival, playing now through June 28, 2015.

A play in 65 minutes, SUNSHINE is the story of a small-time stripper at Club Paradise, where women sit in isolated Plexiglas booths and talk dirty to their customers. Sunshine is the star of this place, with her name up in lights. And her unexpected encounter with disillusioned paramedic Nelson offers two lost souls a window to love and acceptance.

New York Live Arts recently announced the schedule of its third annual Live Ideas festival, S K Y - Force and Wisdom in America Today, taking place today, April 15 - 19, 2015.

The 2015 Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), presented by AT&T, today announced its lineup of 60 short films, 40 of which are world premieres.

As their award-winning theatre home in Bed-Stuy's Restoration Plaza undergoes a multi-million dollar facelift, The Billie Holiday Theatre (BHT) has announced a move that will bring their acclaimed productions to Brooklyn's flourishing Downtown Cultural District. Thanks to a special partnership with the Brooklyn Music School Playhouse, BHT will kick off a two-year residency with a high profile run of the play Brothers from the Bottom, starring actor and TONY Award-winning producer Wendell Pierce (SELMA, Treme, The Wire). The play, written and directed by BHT artistic director Jackie Alexander, will run tonight, March 6th - 29th at the Brooklyn Music School Playhouse, 126 Saint Felix Street between Hanson and Lafayette, in the heart of the BAM Cultural District.

Joining Imelda Staunton, who stars as the indomitable Momma Rose in the West End transfer of Jonathan Kent's production of Gypsy, are Lara Pulver and Gemma Sutton who reprise the roles of Louise and June respectively in the five star Chichester Festival Theatre production, while Peter Davison joins the cast to play Herbie. The cast also features Dan Burton as Tulsa, Billy Hartman as Uncle Jocko, Jack Chissick as Mr Goldstone, Anita Louise Combe as Tessie Tura, Harry Dickman as Pop, Lucinda Shaw as Mother, Roger Dipper as L.A., Louise Gold as Mazeppa, Clare Halse as Majorie May, Tom Hodgkins as Mr Weber, Kieran Jae as Yonkers, Julie Legrand as Electra, Danielle Morris as Geraldine, Luke Street as Little Rock, Damien Poole as Kansas, Lauren Hall as Delores and Natalie Woods as Agnes. Shortly after Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock met the first day of rehearsal as chorus members in a Sydney, Australia production of 'Jesus Christ Superstar' in May 1975, they realized that they had many things in common including having seen The Beatles perform in concert in 1964. When they first performed at local clubs on nights after 'Jesus Christ Superstar' had ended, they could never have imagined that their musical partnership would last four times as long as that of their idols.
