Exciting news just in to BroadwayWorld!  Michael Weber, artistic director of Porchlight Music Theatre, has announced the casts of the Chicago premiere of the 2014 revision of Side Show, the return of Porchlight's hit Ain't Misbehavin', multi-Jeff Award-winner Summer Naomi Smart starring in the Chicago premiere of Far From Heaven, and Porchlight Music Theatre's 2015 - 2016 artistic leadership for its four Mainstage productions.

A.C.T. favorite and Academy Award nominee, David Strathairn (Underneath the Lintel at A.C.T.; film: 'Good Night, and Good Luck,' 'Lincoln,' 'The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel'), returns to American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) for a special three-week engagement of Joseph Dougherty's Chester Bailey (May 25-June 2, 2016) at A.C.T.'s Strand Theater.

Single Room Occupancy, a new pop/rock comedy musical will be presented as part of the 2015 New York International Fringe Festival on August 14, 17, 20, 21 and 27.  Written by and starring popular theatre, film and television actor  Ben Rauch (HBO's Girls, Jersey Boys-The Movie, Gossip Girl), Single Room Occupancy has lyrics by Gaby Gold, Rory Scholl, and Ben Rauch, set design by You-Shin Chen, lighting design by Suzanne Immarigeon, sound design by Joshua D. Reid, choreography by Jebbel Arce, musical direction by Noriko Sunamoto  and will be directed by Joey Murray. The musical will run at the Lynn Redgrave Theatre at Culture Project (Venue #13), 45 Bleecker Street (at Lafayette) for five shows only.

Veteran independent film distributor Richard Abramowitz announced that his company Abramorama, will release LUCKY STIFF in New York City today, July 24th. The Orchard will compliment the theatrical release by making the film available to all U.S. and Canadian cable, satellite and digital platforms for a simultaneous day and date release.

The Old Globe's presentation of Kiss Me, Kate, the classic musical comedy featuring a book by Sam and Bella Spewack and an iconic score by Cole Porter, begins tonight, July 1, on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

With a gloriously romantic score from Tony Award-winner Richard Maltby Jr. (Miss Saigon) and Academy Award-winner David Shire,WATERFALL is a modern love story of timeless scale.

The 5th Avenue Theatre joins with producing partner Pasadena Playhouse in welcoming Emily Padgett (Broadway: Side Show, Rock of Ages), Thom Sesma (Broadway: The Times They are A-Changin', Man of La Mancha), J. The North Carolina Symphony will pay tribute to iconic music and lavish shows in the finale of its 2014-15 Pops series, Pops Goes Vegas, tonight, May 15, and Saturday, May 16, at 8 p.m. in Meymandi Concert Hall in downtown Raleigh. The concert program, which features such classic numbers as 'Luck Be A Lady,' 'Hey, Big Spender,' 'Viva Las Vegas,' 'My Way,' and 'Fly Me to the Moon,' will be led by conductor Jack Everly, and will feature Martin Preston as Liberace, vocalists Scott Beck, Allison Briner, and Ted Keegan, and lead dancers Anne Nicole Beck and Jen Ladner.

The National Theatre's acclaimed production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time will welcome a new company next month with Sion Daniel Young joining the cast to play the lead role of Christopher Boone.  Based on Mark Haddon's award-winning novel and adapted by Simon Stephens, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is currently booking in the West End until 24 October 2015.  Rehearsals began today with the new Company who will begin performances at the Gielgud Theatre on 22 June 2015. 

Berkeley Repertory Theatre will conclude its 48th season with Richard Bean's internationally acclaimed One Man, Two Guvnors, a sassy update of Carlo Goldoni's classic knee-slapper, The Servant of Two Masters. Set in 1963 Brighton, England, One Man, Two Guvnors is a brilliantly delicious mash-up of splendid comedy, British pantomime, and music-hall revues. The uproarious plot features a disarming and doltish Francis Henshall who finds himself trapped by farce into working for two bosses - who are connected in wildly improbable ways. He just has to keep them from discovering each other. Inspired insanity, high-low antics, and nimble wordplay ensue - all backed by live musicians paying homage to rockabilly and a certain Fab Four. Directed by David Ivers - artistic director of the Utah Shakespeare Festival - and with songs by Grant Olding, One Man, Two Guvnors is a riotous blast complete with a colorful cast of characters in a topsy-turvy world of love triangles and mistaken identities. It previews today May 8, 2015, opens today, May 15, 2015, and plays through Sunday June 21, 2015. Press night for One Man, Two Guvnors will be held today, May 15, 2015.
