Birdland will kick-off their great week of programming with Coltrane Revisited, Nellie Mckay, Tom Tallitsch Quartet, and more!

The Morris Museum will launch its new Real to Reel Film Series on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 7:30PM in the Bickford Theatre. This documentary film series will provide a unique focus on the world around us and will be hosted monthly by Bruce Frigeri, an adjunct professor of film studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University.  For each screening there will be a discussion with Bruce before the film to provide further insights.

The month kicks off with local songstress Melveen Leed and the return of the Honolulu Jazz Quartet presenting a Tribute to Bird & Dizzy: The Birth of Bebop. Good music runs in the Artis family, so don't miss PraiseJesus Artis in her Blue Note debut. Jazz talent Abe Lagrimas Jr. is up next, followed by the Na Hoku “Female Vocalist of the Year” Kimié Miner. Paula Fuga returns with a tribute to Aretha Franklin and soul-singer DeAndre Brackensick is back with Shawn Pimental. We welcome Willie K back to the stage following a successful mainland tour and present the Blue Note debut of Kamuela Kahoano. The youngest of the family, Rodney Cazimero joins us later in the month followed by local giants Kumuhau,Brother Noland & John Cruz and Kuana Torres Kahele presenting 'Kakuhihewa, his tribute to O'ahu.

A man who surely knows a thing or two about comedy, Mark Lonow, the co-owner of the legendary Improv chain, will world premiere his latest play (co-written with his wife Jo Anne Astrow) JEWS, CHRISTIANS AND SCREWING STALIN at the Matrix Theatre beginning August 16, 2018. Taking his childhood dramas and traumas, Mark repurposes his familial distress to make you cry, not from its heavy seriousness, but from all the laughing so hard.

Delaware Theatre Company celebrates 40 years of theatre making and announces their 2018/2019 season, including a Broadway-bound musical and two premieres.

Oregon Ballet Theatre opens its season as the first U.S. company to build a production of - and stage - this fiery full-length work, originally created in 1842 for Denmark's Royal Ballet, popular for over 175 years of August Bournonville's Napoli.

He was prosecuted and persecuted; hunted and hated, but always respected, even by his enemies, of which there were many. Now, Christie shares his journey from accused (though not convicted) murderer and arsonist to legitimate business owner and family man in the new, solo stage production OUTLAW. Written and directed by Richard La Plante, OUTLAW is coming to the Playhouse @ Westport Plaza June 29-July 1. Milwaukee Repertory Theater is proud to announce Northwestern Mutual President Gregory C. Oberland as the newly elected Board President for a 2-year term.  Oberland has been a trustee for five years prior to being elected Board President.

Cambridge Arts Theatre today announces a new UK tour of James Roose-Evans' adaptation of Helene Hanff's novel 84 Charing Cross Road, in collaboration with Lee Dean and Salisbury Playhouse. Richard Beecham directs Stefanie Powers as Helene Hanff and Clive Francis as Frank Doel. The production opens at Darlington Hippodrome today 23 May before touring to Wolverhampton, Malvern, Richmond, Oxford and finishing in Cambridge Arts Theatre on 30 June.

This August, New York City will host the first ever Classical Bridge, an international music festival, academy and conference designed to build bridges through the music. Reservoir announces the acquisition of a global stake in the historic catalog of the late American songwriter Hoagy Carmichael. The deals, conducted with Carmichael's heirs, see Reservoir adding nearly 500 Carmichael titles to its multi-genre portfolio, dating as far back as the 1920s.

The International Festival of Arts & Ideas today announced complete details for Festival 2018, which opens on June 9 and continues for two weeks through June23 in New Haven, Connecticut.  

The Tony Awards Administration Committee has announced that they will present the 2018 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre to three outstanding contributors to the Broadway industry - New York Times' culture photographer Sara Krulwich, costume beader, Bessie Nelson, and the Ernest Winzer Cleaners.

Legendary Gypsy Flamenco dancer La Chana will perform after a screening of her Award-winning documentary film LA CHANA on April 11, 2018 at Merkin Concert Hall

Growing up in Southern California, George Christie was drawn to the rebellious lifestyle of notorious biker clubs at a young age, hanging out with the likes of The Question Marks and Satan Slaves, eventually joining the Los Angeles chapter of the Hells Angels. In 1978, he founded the club's Ventura chapter and quickly rose to fame battling police, prosecutors, rival gangs and members of his own organization for more than three decades.

Three of New Jersey's top corporations, Bank of America, The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey, and PSEG Foundation, have once again joined forces with the New Jersey State Arts Council to support the 21st annual  Stages Festival ("Stages"). Stages will offer over 90 theatre performances and programs for children and adults free of charge or at significantly discounted rates. Events will take place at theatres, art centers, libraries, schools, and other community venues from March 1st to the 31st, across the state.
