Paloma Herrera, Julie Kent and Xiomara Reyes, Principal Dancers with American Ballet Theatre, have announced their retirements from the Company at the conclusion of the 2015 Metropolitan Opera House season in New York City. “These three unique ballerinas have each made such distinctive contributions to ABT throughout the years,” Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie stated. “With them, an era of our history resides. Their remarkable careers will be three more reasons to celebrate our 75th Anniversary Season.”

Shakespeare comes alive when four Catholic school teens, break the rules and secretly reenact Romeo and Juliet - the timeless story of dangerous forbidden love. Randle raises the stakes on this "electrifying" (Entertainment Weekly) and "vibrant, hot-blooded adaptation" (The New York Times), as it returns to our stage now set in a Jesuit school in Cairo, Egypt, where revealing who you are can still be a crime.

Isabella Boylston has been promoted to the rank of Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre and Joseph Gorak, Christine Shevchenko, Devon Teuscher and Roman Zhurbin have been promoted to Soloists. The promotions, which become effective August 1, were announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie.

Celebrating its 13th season, the Ensemble of the Romantic Century (ERC) presents Tchaikovsky: None But the Lonely Heart at The Fishman Space in the new BAM Fisher. A fully staged theatrical concert blending striking music, powerful language and biography, Tchaikovsky: None But the Lonely Heart delves into the unconventional 16-year long relationship between one of the great composers of the 19th century and his patroness, Madame von Meck. Written by Eve Wolf and directed by Donald T. Sanders, this evening-length production seamlessly interweaves a dramatic script performed by actor Simon Fortin (Tchaikovsky) and actress Ariel Bock (Madame von Meck) of Shakespeare & Company with live chamber and vocal music performed by violinist Rachel Lee Priday, cellist Adrian Daurov, pianist Eve Wolf and tenor Blake Friedman. Featuring some of Tchaikovsky's epic pieces including Piano Trio in A Minor, Tchaikovsky: None But the Lonely Heart represents some of the composer's balletic works through dance both choreographed and performed by American Ballet Theatre dancer Daniel Mantei.

The epic story of King Henry V's battle with the French during the Hundred Years' War comes alive for the first time at the Folger Theatre, in William Shakespeare's historical drama Henry V. The production, directed by Robert Richmond (Othello and Henry VIII at the Folger), stars Zach Appelman (War Horse on Broadway) in his Folger Theatre debut as Henry V, and will run from tonight, January 22 - March 3, 2013.
