Los Angeles Children's Chorus (LACC), one of the nation's leading treble choirs, honors Artistic Director Anne Tomlinson, currently serving her final year with LACC after leading the organization with distinction for 22 years, at "Gala Bel Canto" on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, 6 pm, at Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. The celebration features musical tributes by some 200 singers from five LACC ensembles, as well as a three-course dinner, fine wines and a live auction. John Horn, host of KPCC's "The Frame," is Master of Ceremonies and Los Angeles Master Chorale Artistic Director Grant Gershon presents LACC's "Bel Canto Award" to Tomlinson. Proceeds from the annual fundraiser benefit Los Angeles Children's Chorus' outstanding artistic and scholarship programs.

The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago, partnering with national and local community organizations, artist practitioners and scholars, continues its B-Series, a biannual celebration of hip hop and street dance, with Under 1 Roof: A House & Hip-Hop Convergence featuring B-Bout It, a street-dance jam and battle. Partnering with Kuumba Lynx, Urbanized Music, BraveSoul Movement, Modern Dance Music Research and Archiving Foundation, New Rhythm Arts Center and The Community Schools Program, the B-Series presents a mini hip-hop and street dance festival featuring presentations, workshops, dialogue sessions and a community dance jam and competition.

Write Act Repertory Producing Artistic Director John Lant is pleased to announce the Off-Broadway premiere of WICKED FROZEN, an untold parody musical of some magic ice witch princesses and other stuff like that, with book and lyrics by Zoe Farmingdale and music and lyrics by Toby Singer. The Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, has been the premier curator of cutting-edge interactive storytelling for more than a decade. The 2018 Tribeca Immersive program showcases works by artists who are pushing boundaries, using technology to tell stories and create new experiences. The Virtual Arcade lineup, presented by AT&T, includes 21 world premiere VR/AR exhibits as well as five Storyscapes experiences in competition. The program takes place at the Tribeca Festival Hub from April 20-28. A new addition to Tribeca Immersive is Tribeca Cinema360, a VR theater featuring four curated screening programs of 360° mobile content, running April 21-28. The 17th annual Tribeca Film Festival takes place April 18-29, 2018.

LUMBERYARD Contemporary Performing Arts is pleased to announce programming for its inaugural summer 2018 season, which will fill venues surrounding the organization's highly anticipated new facility in Catskill, New York-set to open its own doors in Fall 2018. Maya Beiser and David Lang will release a new album, the day, on January 26, 2018 on Cantaloupe Music. The album features Lang's new work for Maya, the day, paired with a new recording of his previous work for her, world to come. the day (2016) was composed as prequel to world to come (2003).

On January 29, 1993, the Lowcountry entertainment scene changed forever. On this date, the North Charleston Coliseum opened its doors for the first time. The show was World Figure Skating Champions featuring Olympic champions Elizabeth Manley and Marina Klimova & Sergio Ponomarenko.  The next night, country music superstars Alan Jackson and Lorrie Morgan took the stage for the first concert in the Coliseum. Both shows had capacity crowds and the Lowcountry finally had a world class entertainment venue. In the years following, the biggest names in music and entertainment would make North Charleston a regular stop on their world tours.

Backsberg Wine Estate has released the lineup for their much anticipated 2018 Picnic Concert Series, which takes place every Sunday from 18 February to 18 March this year. The bands this year are Spoegwolf on 18 February, Valiant Swart Trio on 25 February, Manouche on 4 March, a double bill with Sutherland and Nic Preen (the lead singer of Al Bairre) on 11 March, and Bottomless Coffee Band wrapping up the season on 18 March.
