The crux of BARRACKING FOR THE UMPIRE puts AFL in a different light, one that is swiftly becoming worryingly relevant. This heart-warming and humourous look at country life is a gorgeous debut play from the multi-talented Andrea Gibbs, and one that offers plenty for theatre fans and sports fans alike.

Carnegie Hall will present renowned conductor-composer John Williams, celebrated violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, and the legendary Philadelphia Orchestra in Across The Stars: The Music of John Williams, a one-night-only gala performance on Thursday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m. 

This week I saw productions of two decades-old musicals, each written by one of theatre's great composer/lyricists, which, in their original productions, ran a combined total of nine performances on Broadway.

Irish Repertory Theatre announced today two productions, two special one-night-only performances and one streaming event for their upcoming winter 2022 season.

The Link Theatre Company in collaboration with the Delta Symphony Orchestra will present a concert version of the acclaimed Broadway musical, Ragtime, written by the award-winning composer/lyricist team of Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, and Tony Award-winning playwright, Terrence McNally.

James Badge Dale has been cast as the male lead in Hightown, Starz's drama series from Rebecca Cutter, Gary Lennon and Jerry Bruckheimer TV. According to Deadline, Dale will star opposite Monica Raymund.

The Muny concludes its century of celebration with the seventh installment of its bi-annual concert series, Muny Magic at The Sheldon.

Blasting off the festival in its 14th year will be the U.S. Premiere of David Gordon Green's razor-sharp new contribution to the HALLOWEEN canon with legendary actor Jamie Lee Curtis—along with HALLOWEEN producers Malek Akkad, Jason Blum and Bill Block in attendance! The Toronto International Film Festival® announced today that the World Premiere of Donnybrook, the powerful new film from Tim Sutton (Memphis, Dark Night) will be the opening film of the Festival's Platform programme. Starring Frank Grillo, Margaret Qualley, James Badge Dale and Jamie Bell, the film is Sutton's fourth directorial effort, most ambitious project to date, and his first title at the Festival.
