Pioneer Theatre Company presents the American professional premiere of the new musical THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO, written by Frank Wildhorn and Jack Murphy. Performances take place tonight, May 6, through May 21, 2016.

Who is Annie without her red dress? Or Eva with out her balcony? It is the charge of the Broadway designer to transport the audience into the world of a show, whether it be Great Depression-era New York City or outside of the Casa Rosada. In our new series, Broadway by Design, BroadwayWorld will be shining a spotlight on the stellar designs of this Broadway season, show by show. Today, we continue the series with Scott Pask and Suttirat Anne Larlarb, who acted as scenic and costume designers for Broadway's fresh, new musical,  WAITRESS.

The Public Theater announced today that Stew and Heidi Rodewald will perform live with the on-stage band for THE TOTAL BENT, playing the guitar and bass, respectively. With text by Stew and music by Stew and Heidi Rodewald, the team behind the Tony Award-wining musical Passing Strange, which premiered at The Public in 2003, this world premiere musical is directed by Joanna Settle. Performances begin Tuesday, May 10 and continue through Sunday, June 12, with an official press opening on Wednesday, May 25.

Paper Mill Playhouse will soon present its spring musical, Pump Boys and Dinettes, featuring James Barry(Jim), Gabe Bowling (Jackson),Julie Foldesi (Prudie), Jason Ostrowski (L.M.), Alysha Umphress(Rhetta) and Sam Weber (Eddie). Pump Boys and Dinettes is conceived and written by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann. Pump Boys and Dinettes will be directed by John Foley with choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter. Pump Boys and Dinettes will run eight times a week at the Millburn, New Jersey, theater from April 6 through May 1, 2016. The official press opening night is Sunday, April 10, at 7:00pm. Tony Award-winning director Pam MacKinnon sat down with The Buffalo News for an interview earlier this year at the Metro Diner on the Upper West Side. The article describes the diner as somewhat similar to MacKinnon herself, saying, 'The Metro skips glitz, and so does Pam MacKinnon.'

AMC and Sony Pictures Television announced today the renewal of critically acclaimed drama “Better Call Saul” for a third season.  The prequel to the award-winning series “Breaking Bad,” “Saul” will return with a ten-episode season, helmed by showrunners Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. The series is executive produced by Gilligan, Gould, Mark Johnson (“Breaking Bad,” Diner, Rain Man),  Melissa Bernstein (“Breaking Bad,” “Rectify,” “Halt and Catch Fire”) and “Breaking Bad” alum Thomas Schnauz.

As the weather warms in April, the competition heats up on Food Network, kicking off on Sunday, April 3rd at 8pm with the season premiere of Guy's Grocery Games Redemption Tournament.
