Opening at Hale Centre Theatre on September 18, 2018 and playing through Nov. 13, 2018 is the Broadway comedy Dear Ruth. Produced by David and Corrin Dietlein, with direction by Cambrian James, Dear Ruth is a charming, romantic, highly entertaining Broadway comedy written by Academy Award winner Norman Krasna (a prolific writer with numerous Hollywood and Broadway hits, he is probably best known for his screenplay "White Christmas"). Dear Ruth was a huge Broadway success with 680 performances. It was later made into a very successful film of the same name starring William Holden, Joan Caulfield, and Edward Arnold.

On Monday September 19, 2011, the IT Awards (New York Innovative Theatre Awards), the organization dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, and host comedian Harrison Greenbaum, announced the 2011 recipients at the Seventh Annual IT Awards Ceremony at Cooper Union. This year's nominees represent 169 individual artists, 55 productions and 45 theatre companies. In 2011, the IT Awards had the most individual nominees than in any previous season with 169 nominees.

Retro Productions is celebrating their 10th anniversary with, The Butter and Egg Man by George S. Kaufman. Perhaps one of Kaufman's lesser known works, The Butter and Egg Man is a wonderful comedy about producing theater and was one of Kaufman's biggest Broadway successes when it opened at the Longacre Theatre in 1925. The production is directed by Ricardo Rust, who co-produced Retro Productions, An Appeal to the Woman of the House which was nominated for 3 New York Innovative Theater Awards and won an award for Heather E. Red Nose Day was started by Comic Relief UK in 1988 and is now held every two years with the goal of raising funds for children and young people living in poverty. The US will celebrate its first Red Nose Day on May 21st.
