16th Street Theater's 10th Anniversary Season continues with the National New Play Network rolling world premiere of INTO THE BEAUTIFUL NORTH by KAREN ZACARÍAS adapted from the novel by LUIS ALBERTO URREA and co-directed by ANN FILMER and MIGUEL NUÑEZ, April 13 - June 3, 2017 at North Berwyn Park District's 16th Street Theater, 6420 16th Street in Berwyn, with Press Opening on Thursday, April 20 @ 7:30 PM.  

San Francisco Ballet, long recognized for pushing boundaries in dance, has announced its 2017-18 Season program and schedule. This summer, SF Ballet will return to Festival Napa Valley for one performance only on Friday, July 21, 2017, accompanied by members of the SF Ballet Orchestra. In addition, this October, the Company will once again participate in World Ballet Day LIVE, a day-long streaming event (details to be announced).

Stages Repertory Theatre's 2017-2018 Season celebrates the theatre's 40^th Anniversary with a mix of world and regional premieres, fan favorites and stories that reflect Houston's vibrant, diverse community. ETHEL, the renowned New York City-based string quartet, has announced Circus - Wandering City, an evening-length multimedia performance that explores the phenomenon of circus through the eyes and insights of people who have created its special thrills and illusions. Circus - Wandering City makes its world premiere in January 2018-the 250th anniversary of the modern circus-at The Ringling, a distinct non-profit entity that celebrates the history and the continuing evolution of this thriving art form.

St. Ann's Warehouse and Irish Arts Center (IAC) join forces to introduce New York audiences to two new works by the Tony Award-winning Irish playwright-director Enda Walsh.

 American Opera Projects and Nashville Opera are excited to announce the New York premiere of the comic opera triptych Three Way, a playful three-act performance that explores the future of love, sex, and need with a clever balance of humor and drama. Each aptly named act (The Companion, Safe Word, and Masquerade) introduces the audience to a collision of contemporary characters who meet at the intersection of power and desire, revealing true longings of the human heart. The complexity of each character and situation is accentuated by the beguiling and melodic score composed by Robert Paterson, and a witty libretto by David Cote. Three Way is directed by John Hoomes (CEO & Artistic Director, Nashville Opera) conducted by Dean Williamson, and features Eliza Bonet, Melisa Bonetti, Samuel Levine, Wes Mason, Danielle Pastin, Courtney Ruckman, Jordan Rutter, and Matthew Treviño alongside a chamber ensemble of 12 (American Modern Ensemble). Three Way runs June 15 - June 18 at BAM Fisher (Fishman Space).

The 16th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today announced its lineup of 57 thought-provoking and diverse short films in competition, including 36 world premieres. The selected shorts, 40% of which were directed by women, and include filmmakers from every corner of the globe, were curated from a record 4,385 submissions. They will be presented in 10 distinct competition programs, consisting of five narrative, four documentary, and, for the second year, one animated program. In addition, there is the Sports Shorts program as part of the 11th annual Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival, sponsored by Mohegan Sun. The Shorts program, sponsored by Nutella Originals, is a part of the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival, which runs April 19-30.

This will be the New York debut of Attia's multimedia video installation, Reason's Oxymorons (2015), which premiered at the 13th Biennale de Lyon in 2015. Reason's Oxymorons is a video library comprised of 18 interviews presented within a modular cubicle environment. The interviews feature European and African ethnographers, psychiatric and philosophical practitioners, and theorists discussing topics grouped under titles including "Genocide," "Totem and Fetish," "Reason and Politics," and "Trance." On Today, January 13, there will be a media preview at 11 AM, and the gallery will host a public opening reception for the artist that evening from 6-8 PM.
