BMI has announced its next Acoustic Lounge, a free monthly showcase featuring performances by BMI singer-songwriters, at Stage One at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City. The Acoustic Lounge gives emerging songwriters an opportunity to showcase new music in an intimate setting, while interacting with fans and industry VIPs. Attendees can consider the showcase as a place of musical discovery where they can hear songwriters reveal the stories behind the music.

Produced for SHOWTIME by JAX Media (DESUS & MERO, Emily in Paris, Russian Doll), the episodic anthology series features the bold works of various emerging filmmakers, with each episode featuring two to three short films that vary in timely subject matter, tone and perspective.

Theatre Under The Stars has announced that Tony Award winner Levi Kreis will star as 'Dusty' in the new musical Pure Country. Under the development of TUTS, the musical is being adapted for the stage from the beloved 1992 film starring George Strait.

An overflow audience for the Victoria Shaw concert got a surprise as Victoria called up two of her friends who were in the audience……..Desmond Child, and then Kristin Chenoweth each sang a number. Even Jim Caruso who has hosted every famous person on the planet whipped out his cell phone camera for this one.

Washington, DC-based post-punk darkwave outfit Social Station has announced their new maxi-single 'Try (Cross My Heart)', a dark upbeat yet melancholic track that gets under your skin similar to how Siouxsie and The Banshees pulled that off with 'Spellbound'.

Bon Voyage is a collaborative record between Prochet and Dungen's Reine Fiske and The Amazing's Fredrik Swahn with Melody sculpting and producing the sessions as well as encouraging the players around her to experiment, often with instruments that might be less familiar to them. It also features special guests Gustav Esjtes and Johan Holmegaard (both from Dungen) and Nicholas Allbrook (Pond).

I was lucky to get so much of Barry Doss' time. He is resident Costume Designer for Dance at Sam Houston State University and Stages Repertory Theatre's upcoming production of MARIE ANTOINETTE. When I called, he was in his workshop in Huntsville patterning and cutting. Fresh off Broadway, by way of Fort Worth, Texas, he came home to Houston last spring - February to be exact - and immediately got to work on the anachronistic beauty that is MARIE ANTOINETTE.

Everyone loves to be scared, but especially when it really has you jumping of our your seats in the theater. Dalton M. To say that last week's American Idol elimination was a shocker is the understatement of the century. Multi-platinum Country music star Lorrie Morgan has been cast in the Broadway-bound production of the hit movie PURE COUNTRY, producers Randall L. Wreghitt, Chris Presley and Ellen Rusconi announced today. Morgan joins fellow Country music star Joe Nichols to headline the new musical that is expected to open on Broadway in early 2010. As previously announced, Nichols takes on the role of ?Rusty' [?Dusty' in the movie], which was made famous in the film by George Strait. Morgan now joins him to play the role of ?Lula,' Rusty's ruthless manager, which was created on film by Lesley Anne Warren.
