Vineyard Theatre and Developing Artists will partner again to present Developing Artists' REBEL VERSES Youth Arts Festival, Thursday through Saturday August 9-18 at Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15th St.). Since the festival's inception in 2001, REBEL VERSES has provided young artists, ages 13-19, with the opportunity to collaborate and network with their peers and prominent artists, and to showcase their original work. This two-week event, now in its second season Off-Broadway at the Vineyard Theatre, will feature over one hundred artists and performers from ten young-artist companies hailing from all five boroughs of New York City and beyond.

The Queen's Theatre Hornchurch has today announced its ensemble cast of actor-musicians for its UK regional premiere of the Tony-Award winning musical ONCE. It will star Daniel Healy as Guy; he originally played Eamon and was also the understudy for Ronan Keating and Arthur Darvill as Guy in the West End production. ONCE runs at the Queen's Theatre from 3 - 20 October.

Uptown Players, a professional theater group located in the Uptown area of Dallas, has announced its 2018-2019 season at the Kalita Humphreys Theater and Moody Performance Hall. The season will feature the regional premieres of the 2017 Drama Desk nominated musical, The View Upstairs, a new comedy from the writer of NBC's Emmy-nominated hit "This is Us", The Cake, plus the world premiere of a special holiday tribute, A Very Judy Christmas. Also in the season lineup are the hilarious 2016 Broadway musical, Disaster!, and the Tony Award-winning Musical Spring Awakening, which will be presented at Moody Performance Hall. The production will be directed by Doug Weaver and will star Cinnamon Schultz, Coleman Crenshaw, Vanessa Severo, Jan Rogge, Matt Rapport, Cheryl Weaver, and Margaret Shelby. The production team includes Kelli Harrod (Scenic Designer), Bill Christie (Properties Designer), Sarah M. Oliver (Costume Designer), Kylor Greene (Lighting Designer), Shelbi Arndt (Co-Lighting Designer), Jonathan Robertson (Sound Designer), Matthew Schorr (Co-Sound Designer), Alex Murphy (Stage Manager), and Kyle Dyck (Technical Director).

The Orchard Project, a nationally renowned performance laboratory, today announced the six original, independent pilots selected to participate in its first annual Episodic Lab. More than 430 artists applied to the inaugural year of the Episodic Lab, which will help writers develop television and episodic content, working with accomplished showrunners and producers as mentors. The pioneer artists include playwrights, cartoonist, and screenwriters — and they are working on a diverse set of pilots, focusing on everything from the world of rap to the world of celebrity cruises. How We React and How We Recover, the new album from three-time Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown, will be released by Ghostlight Records this month. Free For All, one of the capital's cherished annual traditions, will return this summer to Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), offering two weeks of free performances of the Company's 2016 production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Directed by STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul, whose hit production of Camelot has extended through July 8 due to popular demand, the production will run at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW) from August 21-September 2, providing more than 12,000 people the chance to see the play free of charge.
