Composer Sebastian Currier's Ghost Trio, written for violinist and longtime champion of his music Anne-Sophie Mutter, receives its world premiere at Carnegie Hall on Tuesday, March 12 at 8:00 p.m. Performed by Ms. Mutter with cellist Daniel Muller-Schott and pianist Lambert Orkis, the work is a piano trio that explores the history and legacy of the genre through allusions to classic works. Ms. Mutter, Mr. Muller-Schott, and Mr. Orkis reprise the work at Chicago's Symphony Center on Sunday, March 17 at 3:00 p.m.

Carl St.Clair, music director of Pacific Symphony and John Forsyte, the Symphony's president, announce programming for the orchestra's 2019-20 season. Pacific Symphony will celebrate Carl St.Clair's 30th year as music director of the orchestra and pays homage to Beethoven to honor the 250th anniversary of the great composer's birth. This landmark season commences on Thursday, Sept. 26 with Maestro St.Clair conducting the combined forces of Pacific Symphony and Pacific Chorale in a program featuring two great blockbusters: Beethoven's Choral Fantasy, a forerunner to his mighty Ninth Symphony along with Carl Orff's popular masterpiece Carmina Burana, the most frequently performed choral work of the 21st century.

Her music transcends geographic, generational, and musical boundaries and her unique melting pot of musical influences have garnered her a devout international following. The Colorado Music Festival today announced the appointment of conductor Peter Oundjian as its next Music Director. He is the fourth person to hold this title in the 42-year history of the festival, which is held for six weeks each year at the Colorado Chautauqua, a National Historic Landmark at the foot of the rugged Flatirons. Mr. Oundjian led the 2018 festival as Artistic Advisor, and his appointment as Music Director was announced along with the festival's 2019 season, which runs from June 27 to August 3 and explores the legacy of Beethoven.

The Music Conservatory of Westchester announces four in-depth musical experiences as its new Musical Masters Lecture Series begins on Sundays at 2 PM during spring 2019. Open to the public, the Conservatory's lecture series will include insight from experts Michael Boriskin, Mark Morganelli, Andrew Armstrong, and Elliott Forrest on the topics of Chamber Music, Brazilian Jazz, Musical Storytelling, and Film Music, respectively.

Theirs is a unique, cosmopolitan sound; a fun-loving mix of swinging gypsy jazz, cabaret, French pop, and Latino and Middle Eastern rhythms. The Morris Choral Society under the baton of Music Director Jason Tramm will present the work of three contemporary composers - all New Jersey residents - in their annual Holiday Concert entitled "Songs Earthly and Divine" December 8 and 9 St. Virgil's Church in Morris Plains.  The concert will feature the New Jersey premiere of R. Wayne Walters, Magnificat and contemporary works which will include David Eddleman's Dai Diddle Dai and Michael John Trotta's Veni, Veni Emmanuel.

Music Director Rossen Milanov and the Columbus Symphony begin 2019 with a performance of Shostakovich's iconic Leningrad Symphony inspired by Nazi Germany's siege of the city during World War II. One of the composer's most power compositions, this work conveys tragedy, oppression, resistance, and ultimately, victory. The performance will be accompanied by excerpts of the 1997 documentary about Soviet composer Dmitri Shostakovich titled The War Symphonies: Shostakovich Against Stalin.

On Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Kaufmann Concert Hall, 92nd Street Y presents Orpheus Chamber Orchestra with 2017 Grammy-nominated British cellist Steven Isserlis in C.P.E. Bach's Cello Concerto in A Major, H. 439, part of a growing partnership between Orpheus and 92Y. The concert marks Isserlis's long-awaited Orpheus debut.

The Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), the nation's premier orchestra dedicated exclusively to commissioning, performing, and recording new orchestral music, presents the concert's eponymous Trouble written by Indian-American composer Vijay Iyer featuring Korean-American violinist Jennifer Koh, one of the few new works of concert music that ruminates specifically on the minority experience in the United States. Led by Artistic Director and Conductor Gil Rose, BMOP also celebrates the Boston premieres of Cello Concerto by Lukas Foss featuring cellist David Russell, Evidence by Matthew Aucoin, and Acrobats of God by Carlos Surinach.

Jazz at Princeton University presents guest artist and Blue Note Records trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire in the world premiere of Slightly Left of Sorrow's Song, commissioned by Jazz at Princeton University to commemorate the 150th anniversary of W.E.B. DuBois' birth. Akinmusire will perform the 8-movement suite with the school's Small Group I under the leadership of saxophonist and program director Rudresh Mahanthappa.
