For three nights in July, internationally renowned author James Reston Jr.'s famous biography, Galileo: A Life, will be transformed for stage in Galileo's Torch, and featured at Castleton.

The New York Philharmonic will return to Bravo! Vail in Colorado, celebrating its 30th season, for the Orchestra's 15th annual summer residency, July 21-28, 2017. The residency will include six orchestral concerts that honor the Philharmonic's legacy on the occasion of its 175th anniversary season and the conclusion of Alan Gilbert's tenure as Music Director.

Music Theater Works (formerly Light Opera Works) presents GYPSY, the tale of an ambitious stage mother fighting for her daughters' success, at Cahn Auditorium in Evanston, August 19 through 27. A 25-piece orchestra accompanies such well-known songs as "Everything's Coming Up Roses," "Let Me Entertain You" and "Some People."

Tickets for Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota's 22nd season will be available online beginning July 15 at www.artistseriesconcerts.org. Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced Lincoln Center's 2017 White Light Festival, which runs from October 18 through November 15. With more than 35 events presented in 13 venues throughout the city, including U.S. and New York premieres and nine commissions, the eighth annual international festival will explore transcendence, interior illumination, and faith in the human spirit, as exhibited through artistic expression across continents and centuries. The multidisciplinary festival takes its name from a quotation by Estonian composer Arvo Part: "Icouldcomparemymusic to white light, which contains all colors. Only a prism can divide the colors and make them appear; this prism could be the spirit of the listener."

The Department of Music and Dance at Swarthmore College announces a new performance series that will bring prominent guest artists to campus to collaborate with students in the Department of Music and Dance.  The inaugural year of the "Featured Artist Series" presents performances and collaborations with Janis Siegel, David Kim, the Jasper String Quartet, and an Indian music ensemble featuring tabla player Samir Chatterjee.

Jason Tramm and the Morris Choral Society welcome acclaimed pianist Michael Fennelly who will perform Beethoven's exquisite 'Choral Fantasy, Op. 80' this Saturday May 20th at the Dorothy Young Concert Hall at Drew University.
